That was hella intense, but Canada pulled through. Can't have those Americans being even more cocky.
Yeah because you're totally not being cocky right now.
Was watching entourage instead, am i a bad Canadian?
Yes
Not to be hatin on canada's medal design, but are they like bent looking or is that just my tv? Also, congrats canada for winning at their own game but they need to stay awesome at it because they came close to losing.
Haha yeah, it sucks we lost. my friend came over wearing a canada shirt... i didnt expect it bc he's korean. [editline]08:43PM[/editline] http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs457.ash1/25153_365887311277_659466277_5274906_521072_n.jpg
Was a good game. Disappointing, but good. What the hell is with these medals though. Did someone run them over with a 18 wheeler?
All of the 2010 medals are unique, when you put them together they make up a picture.
I'm in Vancouver and I got woken up by everything slamming their their car horns simultaneously. Fuck yea.
I didn't watch much, but I knew we (Canada) won.
*sighs* We gave it a damn good run. We still beat Canada in a load of other shit, like, Snowboarding, Bobsled, Figure Skating and who could forget, Medal Count.
Look at it this way. USA Population: 304,059,724 Canada Population: 33,311,389 Even though we had around the same amount of athletes as you, you have 9x the amount of the population versus Canada. Meaning, that it increases the chances of USA having better athletes, even though both had around 230. What I'm trying to say is, if Canada has 5 athletes and 2 of them are good, then we can put 5 in with 2 good athletes. If USA has 5 athletes and 4 of them are good, they can put their 5 in with 4 good athletes because they have a higher population thus increasing the chances of getting better athletes. Germany has 82,000,000 people, which is why they were in second, and we were in third. With the exceptions of China and maybe one other country, the amount of metal standings really comes down to the population of a country, in my opinion. I'm not trying to be biased, nor am I butthurt, I'm just simply pointing out a bit of science and logistics.
FUCK YEAh!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO CANADA !!! Now gtfo my country, you americans.
now go tell russia cuba spain and other countrys to gtfo and see what happens [editline]04:16PM[/editline] anyways good game canada. America isnt really a olympic hockey type. NHL is good but i find olympic hockey the all star games for hockeys xD
Nah, it's just a different design I think. Beijing 2008 Gold Medal [img_thumb]http://www.vicsport.asn.au/Assets/Images/beijing-olympic-gold-medal.jpg[/img_thumb] Vancouver 2010 Gold Medal [img_thumb]http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Unveiling+Vancouver+2010+Olympic+Paralympic+Z-TrSJJmQuTl.jpg[/img_thumb] I think each country designs the medal.
Wow, China's were terrible compared to Canada's
God damn amazing match.
When we lost the first time it was just a ruse to get the Americans and the Ruskies cocky But really, hell of a game guys. You earned that silver.

You bring all that shit then you say China is an exception. It's like saying USA has the lowest crime rate with theft being an exception.
It was an intense match, I work at Ikea in Ottawa, the store was a complete ghost town, while listening to the radio and the guy shouted "GOAL" our department looked at eachother to confirm what everyone heard and then went wild. 2 amazing teams, 1 amazing finish. I applaud you, Americans, you guys got talent.
I would rather lose to Canada than lose to Mexico.
Go Canada
This is news
Miller for MVP. I'm no Crosby fan so I was disappointed with the amount of cheering he got when they presented his Gold. Perry, Nash, and Niedermeyer deserved equal praise, if not more. I get that he slotted the final goal but still. Everyone here in Ottawa is honking their horns like assholes and cheering and cracking open Molsons in public. Oh, sirens just started.
why is China an exception? You bring all that shit then you say China is an exception.
Because it's the only country with a population higher than the USA that didn't get anywhere near 1st-3rd place
It's like saying USA has the lowest crime rate with theft being an exception.
So what? That's different. This is olympics, not crime. If it was crime I wouldn't of said that, cause that's entirely different. How clear do I have to be?
Despite being against the olympics, I still smiled when I heard we got gold :buddy:

I'm near Qualicum and it's quieett
Fuck yeah! Gonna be a siiick party tonight :D
Despite being against the olympics
How the hell can you be against the Olympics? I think that it's kind of silly to get so excited about it, but come on. It's the Olympics.
Algonquin College. Ground zero.
Fancy that, just graduated Algonquin College myself.

And please don't make me compile a list of medal counts and populations just to prove how wrong you are. Yes, having a higher population gives a country a better chance of having a lot of good athletes, but that isn't the only factor and it probably isn't even biggest factor.
Good Match, You know until the puck was blocked by the ref's foot opening it up for Canada to get another shot in :(
When we lost the first time it was just a ruse to get the Americans and the Ruskies cocky But really, hell of a game guys. You earned that silver.
Yeeeeah!! You got served in our house, USA! You know what that taste is? That's the bitter taste of defeat! [editline]09:32PM[/editline]
Good Match, You know until the puck was blocked by the ref's foot opening it up for Canada to get another shot in :(
Sure blame it on the ref. :smug:
Good Match, You know until the puck was blocked by the ref's foot opening it up for Canada to get another shot in :(
Yeah, in referee school they teach them little cheats like that. A good one is the puck switch where they actually carry a separate puck in their pocket and throw it into the goal when nobody it looking.
I don't blame it on the ref- I'm just making the point that Canada was given an extra chance to make a goal (which they obviously did) Because the puck was blocked by the ref's skate- If the ref hadn't been there the puck would have traveled along the wall (as the USA team member intended) Who knows what would have happened then. :o
