Gold medals are better. Second place is just first loser :smug:

That's what I'd expect a bronze and silver winner to resort to.
My dad and I were watching the game. When USA tied it up with 22 seconds left we were all pumped and thought maybe we had it. We can so close on one shot. Good game though.

Too bad they didn't win the bronze, then they can at least say they won somewhere.
Ryan Miller is a beast.
Ok we lost.
That's fine. I hate it when people take this stuff too seriously
Hey, come on, we've never won a gold at home and we just broke the gold record, let us celebrate and gloat a little.
How the hell can you be against the Olympics? I think that it's kind of silly to get so excited about it, but come on. It's the Olympics.
Huh?
I just disliked te olympics because
A) I'm not much of a sports spectator.
and
B) We just put billions of dollars into a two week sports event, money that could've gone into the East side of Vancouver which is a festering shit hole, and said money wasn't exactly very there in the first place, so taxes that could've gone into child care facilities and the like instead were completely dropped in favor of a two week fucking sports event.
Please don't try to pass that off as science. And please don't make me compile a list of medal counts and populations just to prove how wrong you are.
Yes, having a higher population gives a country a better chance of having a lot of good athletes, but that isn't the only factor and it probably isn't even biggest factor.
I wasn't trying to say it all has to do with the population (I might have made it look like I said that), I'm pretty sure with other countries it's different. But with Canada vs USA, the amount of total medals for sure has do with population thus having increased chances of better athletes. There a probably other factors but I think this is the main one.
Hockey =/= American
...Canada =/= USA?
I think Canada invented ice hockey.

They weren't referring to the U.S.
It only took you HOW LONG?
Oh well, congrats. I don't care if you beat us, you beat the god damn RUSSIANS.

Some people just take this a bit too seriously. Funny as hell though.

Ahhh, seems like I really missed out tonight.
Glad to see we fucking dominated the Olympics, though

You can't just say that it's the main factor for just Canada and USA.
You mentioned Germany in your previous post. Do you realize Germany has come in either first or second for the total amount of medals for the past 11 games? And the last time the United States beat Germany in medals was the 1960 Squaw Valley games, 13 games ago. And Germany has had about 1/4 the population that USA has had.
Population is not the biggest factor. I'm thinking that money and love for sports and competition are the biggest factors. It would explain why Germany and (until recently) Russia have pretty much dominated medals.

A lot of peeps do :buddy:
Was a good game. Disappointing, but good.
What the hell is with these medals though. Did someone run them over with a 18 wheeler?
I compare them to coins being run over by a train, they look ugly as shit
And the last ones... Looked like Washers
US: Stop being pussies, they earned their gold medal.
Canada: stop flaunting it, you had trouble beating US at your own sport on your own land, in fact we won once against you even.
Now, talk about the game.
I was having a nice meal in a restaurant and the game was on. It was the last minute and everyone was watching the game on the big tv they have there. It was SILENT. When the US scored around the end of third period, everybody clapped and screamed yes. It was so awesome.
Medal Count.
Counting medals is my favourite sport :)
Canada beat the US in the one sport they are known to be good at. K.

Good game though, and ice hockey is a badass sport.
The only reason we made it that far is because of the goalie. He was amazing.
Nice! Congratulations to all you Canadians

Because the other Golds were totally a fluke.
who cares
[editline]03:21PM[/editline]
the olympics is all about shitty sports teams who have no technical skills and are worthless in the real world so who gives a shit
Good Game America, you deserve that silver. 20 seconds to go and you scored. should have heard Vancouver when that happened, hahaha.
I think it's great that we won
But what I don't like is the amount of people screaming LOL US SUX up here who move on to say the USA is the cockiest country ever.
