he told me after a post last month in which he said that the firefighters in South Fulton, Tennessee did "the Christian thing" by letting a family's house burn because they were delinquent on their $75 annual fire protection fee.
this guy reminds me of a Gandhi quote
I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.
Most kills since the invention of gunpowder have been caused by artillery anyway
What a dickhead.
Hahaha. Again, what kind of soldier. A logistics soldier? Yeah probably. An infantry soldier? The infantry's entire training curriculum is based around finding efficient ways to kill other people.
he Canadian Forces Infantry role is described as: "To close in and destroy the enemy, in any terrain and all weather conditions." The Australian Army defines the role of the infantry thus: "The role of Infantry is to seek out and close with the enemy, to kill or capture him, to seize and hold ground and to repel attack, by day or night, regardless of season, weather or terrain." Similarly, the United States Army describes the mission of infantry: "The Infantry closes with the enemy by means of fire and maneuver in order to destroy or capture him or to repel his assault by fire, close combat, and counterattack." All things considered these synopsize what the infantry does and has done throughout the ages, regardless of nationality, changes in technology, doctrine, tactics, etc.
These are all just fancy words for, what boils down to: arrive by walking, proceed to kill motherfuckers.
You're describing a warrior, not a soldier. There is a solid difference.
If he wants to give the MOH for killing the enemy, what does he think the Enola Gay crew should get for dropping an atom bomb on them? Probably a MOH the size of Captain America's shield AND a commemorative ashtray painted with a representation of the screaming faces of their victims.
"So the question is this: when are we going to start awarding the Medal of Honor once again for soldiers who kill people and break things, so our families can sleep safely at night?
when your soldiers start killing people and breaking things so that your families can sleep safely at night.
All...All of my RAAAAAAAAAAGE.
You know what we should do? Offer bounties. 500 dollars per Taliban head or something like that. Worked wonders with Koevoet in Namibia.

Gays arent welcome in the US military
Why exactly are Christians getting pissed off over a medal? What does this medal have to do with Christianity at all? [editline]23rd November 2010[/editline]
I think this is why a lot of people don't like Christians. I'm a full Roman Catholic and even I think this guy isn't that bright. I mean, war isn't great by the usual standard of Catholicism, but egging on people to kill others in exchange for a shiny medal is quite a paradox.
War isn't great by ANY standard.
You're describing a warrior, not a soldier. There is a solid difference.
No, not really. A soldier is any enlisted/non-commissioned member of a nation's armed forces.
There's nothing heroic on killing people. Fighting to protect others, is.
"I'm sorry Ma'm but your dead husband did not receive the Medal of Honor, because he didn't kill anyone. Even though he threw back a grenade from a in flight helicopter, carrying 20 women and children, giving one of the children a lobotomy while giving his kidney to a dying orphan." "Sorry"

Well the title is "Medal of Honor." I'm pretty sure that risking your life to save others is honorable.
