unemployment is still rampant
prove it
one word: syria
One word: relevance
just because they aren't in the news cycle doesn't mean it isn't happening
I never said it isn't happening, in fact I implicitly said they are happening, its just not very common knowledge and when it is people know it's limited.
It's an article from 2008, but it explains how statistics are gathered and they are still gathered to this date.
I get that. It doesn't seem nearly as significant as you make it seem.
prove it
I was discussing the topic with HumanAbyss. You can look at our conversation and come to your own thoughts.
One word: relevance
Ever since the war began a lot of rebel factions and governments have been getting oil for cheap.
I was discussing the topic with HumanAbyss. You can look at our conversation and come to your own thoughts.
That doesn't prove that "unemployment is rampant". You just have a problem with the official numbers. So where do you get your numbers from that tell you it's rampant?
Ever since the war began a lot of rebel factions and governments have been getting oil for cheap.
No I'm pretty sure it's because supply has remained the same in most countries and gone up in others (domestic oil production in the US has doubled over the past few years) while demand is shrinking. I can't find any source attributing the low cost of gas at American pumps to the conflict in Syria, at least in anything more than a tangential sense. The "why" doesn't matter to most people so it's not even really relevant.

It's impossible to get the exact number due the the nature of the factors, but there is some speculation. What is for sure is that you're not getting an accurate picture and it is worse than it seems. Fair enough, part-time jobs are shitty and for most of the workforce won't allow you to make ends meet, but they are still employed. The second article says that you can add 2% to official figures, which still doesn't really seem rampant to me.
yeah but why though
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/business/energy-environment/oil-prices.html One of the first articles I got from googling "why gas is cheap". [editline]12th September 2016[/editline] Also if you have other reasons for why Obama has a positive approval rating I'd love to hear them, I was mostly spitballing.
Obama's a cool president i guess. I've heard that he tried to pass on many bill but the.. parliament? consisted of his opposition and shotted down him so that's why he couldn't change anything. Welp i've never really looked down really deep into obama presidency.
