no my point is that if you show any sort of disdain for Israel or name a product something similar to another product that was used in the holocaust, you'll be branded antisemitic and the EU parliament will order you to change the name of your product (which is silly!).
idk that anyone was calling anyone anti-semitic. why should the company keep the name for the product?
idk that anyone was calling anyone anti-semitic. why should the company keep the name for the product?
because it's silly to change the name of a product because it sounds similar to something that was used during the holocaust.
because it's silly to change the name of a product because it sounds similar to something that was used during the holocaust.
except it's not similar it's the exact same fucking name as the gas used to murder a bunch of people in a genocide lol are you made of Osmium because you're so fucking dense I mean since it's okay I think I'll name my new grape soda "the grape of young children" it's a perfectly fine name just because it SOUNDS similar to rape doesn't mean i should change it!!!
He doesnt care, sounds like one of those people with double standards, meaning: one side is always right and the other is not.
because it's silly to change the name of a product because it sounds similar to something that was used during the holocaust.
are you just stubborn? it's like you have this attitude of "who gives a shit what anyone else thinks, i want to keep this name no matter how much it makes me look like an asshole". it isn't a defeat to reconsider the name, it's called having some human decency.
Fucking dropping the ball. It should've been a face wash. A facial cleanser, if you will. A final solution to unsightly blemishes.
check out my title bro. im that kind of stubborn ass hole who thinks people should be able to say what they want or name things what they want without other peoples tears dictating what they say or name things.
a company isn't a person.
French cleaning and hygiene company IPC-Sa has recalled a line of products named Cyclone B after severe backlash from European Jewish organizations. Cyclone B sounds similar to Zyklon B, the deadly chemical used by the Nazis to kill thousands of Jews during the Holocaust.
...And Pianist sounds like Penis. No sense getting all worked up about it though.
im so glad that you finally admit that you're just a shitty troll
differing opinion=/=trolling
a company isn't a person.
So a group of people aren't entitled to free speech?
differing opinion=/=trolling So a group of people aren't entitled to free speech?
belief that other people's opinions don't matter=/=differing opinion and i seriously doubt that every single person working for the company voted for that name
Cleansing the earth was never so easy!
So a group of people aren't entitled to free speech?
"free speech" is complicated. yea you have the right to say whatever you want. no you don't have the right to sell products with offensive names in whatever society you want. it is completely within the rights of a collective to create rules that allow for individuals to participate without fear or feelings of oppression.
maybe the european jewish organizations are "everyone". or at least, they are everyone who matters in this situation. last i checked, the holocaust wasn't a genocide against white american men.
Last I checked the Jews weren't the only people killed in the holocaust. Jews need to stop using the fucking holocaust as justification for everything, very few people who survived the holocaust are even alive today.
in a way, a company exists outside of society. they are given the privilege of being able to sell a product for profit in a society because that product benefits the people of the society. that privilege can be revoked if the society says the product isn't beneficial.

But the name of a cleaning product that doesn't become offensive until you translate it to another language isn't really oppressive. I doubt many people are going to want to start throwing Jews back in the ovens because they used a product that makes their floors a little cleaner. [editline]4th December 2013[/editline] or is it because a select group goes out of their way to feel offended, makes the product no longer beneficial?
If the name of the product was "Kill all Niggers" or "bring back jim crow" then I could understand. But the name of a cleaning product that doesn't become offensive until you translate it to another language isn't really oppressive.
What sort of logic is this? It's the same name translated to english but that translation makes it not offensive? So if I'd try to sell a product in the US called "kill all niggers" but I'd translate it to german it would be okay, because it's not offensive "until you translate it to another language"?
I doubt many people are going to want to start throwing Jews back in the ovens because they used a product that makes their floors a little cleaner.
Who the fucks said a name of a product would make people start throwing Jews back in the ovens? So if I'd start going "hang all the niggers" and people wouldn't do that, I could say that "it's okay because my words alone are not making people hang anyone?" And why not start selling a plane model called "World Trade Center Demolisher"? Or cotton pads called "Nigger's sweat"? Or a leaf blower called "Hurricane Katrina"? That would be offensive? Just translate it to german and it'll immediately make it okay lol
i hate to say this unironically, but you should probably check your privilege if you are telling jewish people or organizations to "deal with the holocaust". true. organizations from which groups are defending the name?
There are plenty of things that can, and sometimes do offend me. I do think it's fine to want the company to change its product, but the government shouldn't get involved. Though all the article mentions is the european parliament ordering its janitors not to use it.
...And Pianist sounds like Penis. No sense getting all worked up about it though.
Pianist doesn't translate to penis in another language though. Cyclone B translates to Zyklon B in German. It's literally the same name.

who gives a shit what its called. we can ban anything related to third reich including all the companies that produced for the war effort.
While some people think this is an exaggeration, I really don't think it is, because people were killed using this gas, it's not "Just connected to nazis" Honestly you're just being insensitive and lack the experience to be offended by this. [sp]And no, by experience I didn't mean being gassed[/sp]
