Ahh, good old Viking hair braiding. [IMG_THUMB]http://satwcomic.com/art/trans-fear.jpg[/IMG_THUMB]
So Scots look badass, but vikings ARE badass. What yielded better results?
i thought it was well known that the nords of the past were really clean creatures
Still badass looking
i thought it was well known that the nords of the past were really clean creatures
Yeah. Skyrim is inaccurate as hell about it. They got the blonde and tall traits right, but even that's exagerated. Vikings were, according to Ghanese lore, about one and a half time taller than them, their arms as broad as a mans torso and at night, they'd drink some potion (mead) and would grow horns (helmets, goddamn you!). If a man pierced or ran one through with a spike, they'd laugh and rip the spear out and return it to its owner... Violently. Fits well with everything else we hear. The main traits seem consistent. But Videogames and movies really aren't valid references. Neither is Manga art.

Looks like a normal medieval farmer to me. No suprise really.
These posers are just trying to wreck the true viking image (of steel)
this explains metalheads having long hair!

-100 cool points for Vikings
-100 cool points for Vikings
Down to 99,999,999,900 what a shame [editline]2nd August 2012[/editline] Oh hey I forgot to mention earlier: Back during the Viking age, under Icelandic law, if a man implied you were effeminate, you were in your rights to kill him on the spot.

This has been known literally for ages, and the feminine insult in the title is incorrect. They took care of their hygiene because in their environment and lifestyle, being covered in sweat or having long unkempt hair would mean you would fucking die.
It's funny that so many male teenagers want to look as girly as possible though. You could say they want to look like a viking.
I will continue to live in my perfect little facts-be-dammed world and believe all Vikings looked like this
I thought that skyrim was set on another planet
True. Does that suddenly make the Nords a totally original invention? That's like saying that Tolkien's fantasy has no relation to the real world and that you've never seen people ride on horsebacks to war and that Rohan has to cultural basis in the real world. All fantasy has very strong basis in real world history, legend or mythology.

So...Dave Navarro is a viking?
It's funny that so many male teenagers want to look as girly as possible though. You could say they want to look like a viking.
Holla
oh great like we english needed more things to be embarrassed about
If Vikings were around today, they'd probably have fauxhawks and skinny jeans.
so what this article really says is not that vikings weren't manly as fuark, but that they were totally swag as well
Yeah, but Vasili is saying the opposite. They looked like girls because the girls looked more masculine than they did.
So this guy could be an actual viking?
It's all in the hair. The one on the left couldn't...
