9k warheads is peanuts when you've had well above 20k in the past, and only need a couple thousand with modern delivery vehicles. Of course we've retired the shit that stopped being relevant to modern scenarios. That's not really getting rid of anything so much as cleaning house. It sounds nice to say, but means very little.
At the height of cold war, US had about 35000 nukes and USSR had about 45000 nukes.
listen Iran we have over 1000 nukes but how dare you try to defend urself with one
5,113 active ones to be exact, and your comment makes no sense.
5,113 active ones to be exact, and your comment makes no sense.
Makes perfect sense. We have 5000+ active nuclear weapons, why do we have the right to tell Iran they can not have any? Especially when Iran is in a very precarious position that puts them at a great disadvantage to much stronger enemies?
5,113 active ones to be exact, and your comment makes no sense.
No it's a stock pile of 5,113 weapons only ~2,486 are active. That's 500 ICBMs, 1,152 SLBMs, 316 bomber weapons and 500 tactical weapons.
Active warheads include strategic and nonstrategic weapons maintained in an operational, ready-for-use configuration, warheads that must be ready for possible deployment within a short timeframe, and logistics spares. They have tritium bottles and other Limited Life Components installed. Inactive warheads are maintained at a depot in a non-operational status, and have their tritium bottles removed.
Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists: U.S. nuclear forces, 2010 Department of Defense: Increasing Transparency in the U.S. Nuclear Weapons Stockpile [editline]9th November 2011[/editline]
9k warheads is peanuts when you've had well above 20k in the past, and only need a couple thousand with modern delivery vehicles. No sympathy for Iran. There is no need for anymore nuclear weapons. Using the bullshit excuse of 'lol but the big boys have them' is fucking retarded, because nuclear weapons should be being removed from all world arsenals. They are retarded weapons that dont win wars of strategic value but just fuck everything over.
To be honest, I don't really care that Iran is developing Nuclear Weapons. It just wants to hang out with the cool western countries, and the rest of the developed world. One of the easiest ways to get in that club is by flexing your muscles.
They have the ability to make them, why not if for defensive purposes.
we're dismantling them
Stop fucking living in a dream reality.
Stop fucking living in a dream reality.
What are you talking about? The United States is dismantling older warheads used in outdated systems on a constant basis. That's like saying we still use our Titan systems.
How about it wouldn't be dropped anywhere
Hey Starpluck how come you're not telling us that Iran isn't developing nuclear weapons, and that they never would, anymore?
Hey Starpluck how come you're not telling us that Iran isn't developing nuclear weapons, and that they never would, anymore?
Still, the only thing the reports point to is that Iran wants to gain the knowledge to build nuclear weapons. Nothing i have read has convince me that they want to build and demonstrate a nuclear bomb let alone lob them at Israel.

There was talk of Iran looking to become a virtual nuclear state (the knowledge, means and facility to assemble a weapon if needs be), having few or no bombs.
US should worry more about their economy than Iran's nuke. [editline]9th November 2011[/editline] Plus, Iran would never nuke Israel due to the fact that Saudi Arabia is next door and destroying Saudi Arabia means destroying Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, countries like Jordan, Lebenon, Palestine, a portion of Egypt plus 90% of Arabic Muslims, both Shia and Shi'ite and friendly factions who do support Iran in THAT REGION
No seriously, how does this have 7 agrees? Its the stupidest shit I've heard all day, while its not much of concern as this is consistent with his posting style, the fact others believe this is likely the intention and what will happen is disappointing.
Or Israel will drop one on Iran.
Or Israel will drop one on Iran.
Same outcome. If they nuke Iran, they going to anger the entire Arab nations starting from Saudi Arabia, followed by UAE, Jordan, Lebanon and so on. This Nuke threat is already a stalemate [editline]9th November 2011[/editline] Nobody is going to drop any nukes so long as Saudi Arabia is in the middle.
Iran building a nuke or several would affect the power little in the region. I doubt that any Arab country would nuke Israel due to the Palestinians, and Israel nuking any of the Arab countries would be a death wish.
The media is over blowing the report: http://thinkprogress.org/security/2011/11/08/364519/white-house-iaea-report-iran/ [editline]9th November 2011[/editline]
Hey Starpluck how come you're not telling us that Iran isn't developing nuclear weapons, and that they never would, anymore?
I'm on fence for very valid reasons, I'll make a thread in Mass debate about it as my post would be long
Cold War 2: Electric Boogaloo This will turn out just like the last one did.
To summarize for the time-being, Iran's nukes are irrelevant. They're only a pretext.
but its haram guys is HARAM
but its haram guys is HARAM
how is that? "Muhammad (peace be upon his name) spake: thou shalt not assemble a fissionable or fission-fusion weapon"
"Let's all go to the winchester, have a pint and wait for all of this to blow over."
"Let's all go to the winchester, have a pint and wait for all of this to blow over."
that only works for zombie jokes
that only works for zombie jokes
The fact im using it for something which isn't a zombie joke is the whole point. That's like saying nobody can make comical star wars references unless they are speaking about intergalactic politics.
oooh i love a good oul war, lets hope this leads to WW3, because that'd be awesome [sp]or maybe I've been playing too much MW3, who can say[/sp]
Some times I just wish I could fuck off from this planet and go live somewhere else. If in my life time there is ever a call for volunteers for people to go to mars with no prospect of return you can bet your ass I would do anything to be there. This planet is just way to close to the line of blowing everything the fuck up.

Hell the war could even be caused by sort of a new age space race and America shipped off first and Russia blasted em. It'd be cool because you, the astronaut, would have no idea that you aren't going be directed to Mars or send data back to anyone because everyone on earth is dead but it's also chill because you don't care, at least you're off of this shit hole. I'm really fucked up right now and that's unrelated and I'm not sure what the under influence/unrelated posting rule is so, if Iran and Israel start a sort of holy war. What side would North American troops fight for, or would we just let it play out? (User was banned for this post ("PUI" - Starpluck))

Oh man... peace on this earth please...
