This is more like it.
A-10s/GAU-8s are cool and all, but let's be honest, there's close to zero chance of A-10s getting involved. If they need airpower, the carrier in the gulf has got plenty to offer.

oh shit they actually pulled it off!

These guys think they're hard? I'd love to witness them attempting to fight even the average armed American citizen on the American homefront. They'd be slaughtered. Also good luck with the gangs and militia.
Uh huh. The fat American slob that has never been closer to a warzone than a Call of Duty game? The actual ISIS fighting core is all veterans from the Al Qaeda Iraq days and the Syrian war. They know their shit. On the upside, there are only a couple thousand of them. America has more guns than people. Eventually, we win.

Honestly most of us would be dead before we could pause Netflix and close the bag of chips to get to our handguns.

Also guns.
I think you're both underestimating the blind patriotism most Americans have. Also guns.
Your overestimating the average person. Lets redefine our sides. We have battle hardened underequipped religious radicals on one side, and a piecemeal population of gun users with very limited experience on the other.
If ISIS expands to the point where they step a serious foot on the American continents we've already lost. Iran will be their boss fight if they manage to survive the Kurds and the airstrikes to take Baghdad and the rest of Iraq. If Baghdad falls then the rest of Iraq would probably quickly fall, too. But then there's also Syria and the Assad regime which we know would rather gas their own country before it lets ISIS and rebels take over. And we know Iran would rather turn Iraq into a crater than let them be taken over by ISIS. Not considering car bombs or random terror attacks, they got a long way to go before they consider the US.
No terrorist organization should ever be ignored, especially when we're talking about a well trained/disciplined group with modern equipment like ISIS. Though their threats are laughable at times, they pose a huge threat to the region.
You guys are misunderstanding me. People are addressing their threats as if they're even worth listening too. Of course we should take care of the problem, and we are taking care of it. But that doesn't mean we should actually put any stock into what they have to say.

We have a small army of our own personal ninjas (or solid snakes if you wanna go that route), yo. v:v:v

They would be annihilated by Israel before they can even get close to the west,

Also good luck with the gangs and militia.
Which militia? You got 1000's of them man. Honestly, I'd rather not have a war on the homefront, and instead have the UN open a militia acceptance program where they allow people to have groups of 10 or more to join the UN Peacekeeper forces. It'd allow these guys to get their war attitudes of their chest, while allowing them to explore different areas and become more appreciative of their homes.

We are bloodthirsty, vengeful, and often patriotic to the point of zealotry. We are also better educated and significantly less divided internally than Iraq. Even ignoring the ridiculous amount of armaments in the hands of civilians, the US is a scary fucking place to invade. You'd be two steps on the beach before half your strike team burns to death because some redneck has a napalm thrower. The redneck didn't even know you were coming. Tuesday was just get drunk and napalm the beach day.
Who cares about these guys? Seriously they're so irrelevant its embarrassing. I almost feel pity for them. The western world is doing so many amazing things and advancing so far ahead of people like this that we shouldn't even pay any mind to them.
Yeah we should just let them slaughter civilians left right and centre instead. Dipshit. [editline]14th August 2014[/editline]
You guys are misunderstanding me. People are addressing their threats as if they're even worth listening too.
You probably should actually, cause the last time anyone made that kind of threat two buildings were torn down.
If you believe everything you hear then 100s of 12 year old gmod players are having sex with your mum daily. Airport security is much firmer than it used to be almost over the entire world and there is firmer counter terrorist stuff.

Gotta cut that cancer out before it spreads. Meet Japanese Christians, then you'll know a group of people who are so devoted to their beliefs you'll know their fucking insane, sad part is it's westerners that come over here and run that shit too.
These guys think they're hard? I'd love to witness them attempting to fight even the average armed American citizen on the American homefront. They'd be slaughtered. Also good luck with the gangs and militia.
Yeah I'd love to see people get slaughtered too.
Just like Fox to throw literally all the blame on Obama's administration, gg guys, A+ reporting. I mean I agree with them that we took far too long to react to this threat and all, but turning this travesty into another chess piece for your bullshit political games is retarded.
Its Fox News, what in the honest fuck were you expecting? For them to praise Obama for DOING something? Obama could cure fucking cancer and Fox would find SOME reason to bitch about it.
Theres much division in America, but when it comes to fighting aggressors you face them all united. Even the American muslims.
You know, I think before anyone should talk about them landing and attacking the USA, we should talk about them getting through the Navy, or the Air Force. Because if they wanted to use military shit to come over here? They'd be bing bang dead. Everyone is also implying that there aren't the forces stationed there, the Reserve, and others like the Marines etc. And even if they DID get through all that, I'm fairly sure that places like the UK and Germany would send troops to aid them. US 1 - Extremists 0 Manchester Untd. Nil
I believe this is what the Romans thought before they fell
Yes but the Romans were on the brink of internal collapse entirely, suffering civil war after civil war. Also, the Barbarians equaled the Roman numbers and were close to on-par technologically. We have air, armor, drones, international resources. Just about everything we need. Rome didn't.
Yeah surprisingly enough terrorism doesn't hinge on the use of aircraft.
Are they gonna invade America with rowboats then?
