They're still friends and I highly doubt she would do that, nor would a court rule that she should get any sizeable amount of his money created from a game before they were married after only a year.
Wow /v/ was right.
yeah man fuck those 3DPD bitches and whores my waifu is all I'll ever need

Sweden does the "no-fault divorce" thing where the usual outcome is a 50/50 split of marital assets. I'm not sure whether or not Notch's fortune has anything to do with that, but it's certainly not out of the question. Not blaming either party here; we don't know much for details.
That is why I will never get married. So stupid to "bet" my possessions, or even kids, on something like that...
It's not a marital asset, he created it before they were married. And you are assuming the absolute worst in people. I've talked to ez, she's cool. Oh well, at least he hasn't reduced to lying on a street, wearing his trademark hat (albeit crumpled) while drinking and yelling gibberish. Yet.
That is why I will never get married. So stupid to "bet" my possessions, or even kids, on something like that...
right, that's the reason you're never gonna get married

And I did a little research; if any money would be divided, you're right that it would be the income gained during the time of marriage. I do think there are some rare situations where "Separate" property can get turned into "Marital" property, but I doubt that happened here.
He needs to make a new identity and keep it super secret confidential and away from Mojang
Wait what How have I not heard any of this Anyone got a source on the money-steal gold-digging?
Doubt it, they're still good friends and usually mention each other on Twitter etc..
He needs to make a new identity and keep it super secret confidential and away from Mojang
I have my reasons to suspect he is secretly ReviewTechUSA. You notice they are never in the same room at the same time.... [sp]Joking, but they look very similar[/sp]
Damn, sounds like life is rough for him right now.
He is still literally swimming in money though
Money doesn't buy happiness.
He is still literally swimming in money though
I'm sure that makes losing his wife and his dad pretty trivial
He is still literally swimming in money though
What's your point? Lots of fame and money can easily bring great depression aside from happiness.
He is still literally swimming in money though
Lol, are you some kinda kid who believes money is the answer to all of your troubles? You can't buy a loving wife and you can't buy a new dad.
Read the whole article. Never bitching about notch again.
Lol, are you some kinda kid who believes money is the answer to all of your troubles? You can't buy a loving wife and you can't buy a new dad.
I'd prefer to cry in a mansion than in a hovel.
I'd prefer to cry in a mansion than in a hovel.
Have your dad off himself and your wife leave you and say that
Have your dad off himself and your wife leave you and say that
I'd still prefer to cry inside a mansion than a hovel.
Have your dad off himself and your wife leave you and say that
Fucking awful attempt at a zinger, F- see me after class. I've always thought people were too hard on Notch, back when he first started the whole "vacation every week" thing, it was a bit annoying, but he must have had reasons to want to vacate that much, that weren't just money. When I read his blog post about his father dying that settled it, he gets too much shit for a fluke. He never thought, or intended, Minecraft to be this big, it just happened. And people give him shit for it. Hell, he even admitted he isn't a good programmer, a great programmer if you count hacking code that works seeing as he hacked together a popular as hell game. Didn't realise he had divorced though.
He got divorced? Wow that was really quick.
That actually make me kind of sad, because I remember reading thorough his profile of other games he worked on when Minecraft had only been in development for a few weeks, and seeing, "I love my girlfriend :)" at the bottom of the page. :(
I'd prefer to cry in a mansion than in a hovel.
If being in a hovel meant I'd be more happy than I would be than if I was living in a mansion (unlikely, but possible), well then yeah you know the story. Yes, money helps form a happy life. But it's not a requirement, and in no way shape or form should be it be used as a bright-side when you're depressed and possibly lonely. For some people, having a lot of money would suffice. But other people have different standards.
If i were in his situation, i would buy an island, build an awesome house there and live quiet and peacefully. Edit: Actually no, because he still wants to code and create things. Tough situation. I guess he should just learn to code what he wants and try not to care to much about people's expectations.
Release projects under an alias perhaps? :v:
I'd still prefer to cry inside a mansion than a hovel.
At least you can work up from a hovel. At least you can say "well things could get better". When you're in a mansion there is no room for imagining. All you have is time and the knowledge that no stroke of luck or material possession will ever cure what ails you. [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] People really do have emotional requirements. And those can't be bought, and often times money gets in the way of those things.
When you're in a mansion there is no room for imagining.
You can always just imagine a bigger mansion.
I'd rather be rich and sad than poor and sad, because then I wouldn't be panicking about trying to stay alive.
