• Donald Trump admits 'this Russia thing' part of reasoning for firing James Comey

Even if Pence becomes president the Republican brand would be so horribly tarnished that it would be trivial for the Democrats to block anything he tried to do until the next election, which would be a landslide democrat victory no matter what
I love how he's not just a power hungry wannabe dictator, he's also so fucking incompetent that he cant even keep his mouth shut and let his cronies make up a cover story
What if Pence is also in on "the whole Russia thing"? Not to mention that he's still a shit person
Personally, I don't think he is. Pence is a pretty awful person, but he's a hardcore traditionalist Republican, who came within an inch of completely jumping off the runaway Trump train in light of his behavior and rhetoric during the election. His values and principles might be fucked, but they seem to be important to him. It's only a gut feeling, of course, but I wouldn't put money on Pence knowingly committing treason by cooperating with a hostile foreign governments -- especially Russia's.
Is Trump's ultimate plan to make America great again by annihilating himself and his cabinet while burning down the GOP? If not, I'm failing to see what his goal is here. If he has any lawyers on retainer I'm sure they've been screaming since yesterday to just shut up about all this and stop putting it all on Twitter, regardless of how guilty or innocent he is.
Half his own party are terrified of him and consider him a loose cannon. If it turns out they can bring charges against him, especially to save their own skins, they will, though it's surprising with all he's done already they haven't done so yet. [editline]12th May 2017[/editline] I'd bet even money on Pence agreeing, especially if the GOP try to sweeten the deal somehow, imo.
They can't touch Trump because the orange in chief has the support of their constituents. Remember, their base chose Trump OVER traditional conservatives. Trump needs to lose a lot more support before any of them grow spines.
Is it just me or is a special little someone not showing his nose in these Trump threads ? I wonder why (User was banned for this post ("Why reply" - Craptasket))
is he referring to himself in 3rd person
it's a freudian slip, he's actually an Andy Kaufman character
Holt asked Trump if he was "angry with Mr. Comey because of his Russia investigation." "I just want somebody that's competent," Trump responded. "I am a big fan of the FBI, I love the FBI." Trump said he never tried to pressure Comey into dropping the FBI probe of the Trump campaign and insisted, "I want to find out if there was a problem in the election having to do with Russia." "As far as I'm concerned, I want that thing to be absolutely done properly," Trump said. "Maybe I'll expand that, you know, lengthen the time (of the Russia probe) because it should be over with, in my opinion, should have been over with a long time ago. 'Cause all it is, is an excuse but I said to myself, I might even lengthen out the investigation, but I have to do the right thing for the American people." Trump added of the investigation, "I want that to be so strong and so good. And I want it to happen." Asked by Holt if by firing Comey he was trying to send a "lay off" message to his successor, Trump said, "I'm not." "If Russia did anything, I want to know that," he said. But Trump also insisted there was no "collusion between me and my campaign and the Russians."
For some reason the article left out a pretty important part of Lester Holt's interview
For some reason the article left out a pretty important part of Lester Holt's interview
the shocking revelation that a man accused of a crime says he didn't do it??
For some reason the article left out a pretty important part of Lester Holt's interview
Have you ever heard of a man boasting he committed a crime instead of denying that he did before? If you boast of committing a crime, that quickly makes you very interesting to the authorities. On top of that, the alphabet agencies are no friends of Trump's, and I'm still very interested to find out where that 19.5% stake in Rosneft wound up, and in whose hands.
“And, in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said: ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.’”
very interesting.
Maybe because that's not really important? Oh he's covering his ass and you believe it? Damn dude.
For some reason the article left out a pretty important part of Lester Holt's interview
For some reason you still trust anything that donald trump says???
For some reason the article left out a pretty important part of Lester Holt's interview
Get a load of this guy I don't know if you're just trying to be contrarian or if you're genuinely this gullible but any man being investigated would take the first chance to control the investigation directly or indirectly and claim he 'just wanted it to be done properly' but I guess you could catch the guy naked in bed with your wife and you'd still believe everything was fine as long as they told you it wasn't what it looks like
If Trump wants us to take him at his word maybe he shouldn't stop changing what 'he really meant' every ten minutes. That doesn't smack of someone conducting themselves honestly or thoughtfully.
For some reason the article left out a pretty important part of Lester Holt's interview
Really dude? You just ignore EVERYTHING Trump has obviously done just because he said "I didn't do it"? I really don't know what else to say but brainwashed :v:
I'm at least 80% convinced Trump is just a Saturday morning cartoon villain that meandered into the real world by mistake. Fucking threatening the former head of the FBI on Twitter man, what the fuck is he even expecting to happen.
that's because so many corrupt businessmen/politician/rich guy characters in the 80's and 90's were quite literally based on him, the most notorious being Biff in Back to the Future. Another fun one is Bowser in the live action Mario Bros movie, a transparent proxy of a future run by trump and his brand of corporate indifference (and also toxic mutant-producing slime because early 90's) he was a big TV personality for a long while, an accessible caricature of business attitude everyone came to know
:thatwasfunnyright:
be a hero comey
For some reason the article left out a pretty important part of Lester Holt's interview
Do you mean to imply that him claiming to want to find out about possible Russian interference somehow clears him of the bombshell in this interview? You fire the guy who is running the investigation into your campaign's connections to Russia and then go "oh but.. I wanna know what happened!", is that really all it takes to appease you and make you feel like everything is on the up and up?? [editline]13th May 2017[/editline] "The mayor fired the police chief who was investigating the mayor as a suspect in the murder case, but he said he wants to find the murderer so checkmate liberals!!"
"I just want somebody that's competent," Trump responded. "I am a big fan of the FBI, I love the FBI."
Well at least Trump understands how most of us feel about him being in office. We just want somebody that's competent because we're a big fan of our nation, we love the US.
