Yeah of course they do, since people STILL believe they control the size of our eggs, the shape of our bananas, that the metric system is an EU invention, and that they force us to fly EU flags at our museums and universities.
I do hope that new voters will stop listening to what tabloids print.
It's quite funny. I had someone who was genuinely agianst using metric solely because it was "European", yet he was using Fahrenheit perfectly happily.
The tabloids are owned by people like Murdoch who don't have many business interests in the European Union countries, and want to keep the countries with their business interests relatively isolated as it allows for better selling of the media (less foreign media getting involved). Also, drama sells better than peace and quiet.
Yeah that's the long term issue of the public not informing itself and not willing to inform itself. It's not just EU problems, but most of the time the legal process, economy basics and other stuff.
Sadly seems to be a pretty common thing all over the world.
To be honest the tabloids don't print what they print because they want to keep the public uninformed but because what they print sells.
Fuck, I don't want us to leave the EU but I can't do anything about it. Fuck.

#OccupySomething
As an American I'd say stay in the EU.
