Of course Fox wants libraries shut down. Libraries educate people, and educated people don't vote conservative.
Honestly, I would say tear down most libraries, and add on to a few current ones to make them much larger in the main cities...
Still quite a few years away from that but it'll come eventually, everything is getting digitalized, Soon we'll have just a couple hard copies of every book, instead of many, But limitless digital copies
Oh look there's been a powercut and now the sum of human knowledge is unreachable
I was saying earlier "you will never hear conservatives protesting libraries"
I was fucking joking
i have to keep my mouth fucking shut for now on
for some reason, I thought I was reading Liberties instead of Libraries.
any way, I starting to find libraries a good place to barrow video games. So I don't think they are a waste.
aren't you against socialism?
Anyone ever read Fahrenheit 451?
That's pretty much the first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread.
Where do all of you live if you can get video games and laptops... :sigh:
don't know about video games, but my library lets you use laptops
Wait... Last time I checked there were no hardcore religious idiots or soccer moms in office...
You HAD in office, many times actually. Palin, George Bush, george tenet... come on, there's a million of them
I strongly disagree with you on Europe but this isn't the thread.
how do you disagree with facts lol?
Anyways, if State government would stop spending we wouldn't have to worry about cutting the essentials, like libraries.
spending is necessary at times. it's just where.
Of course Fox wants libraries shut down. Libraries educate people, and educated people don't vote conservative.
That's where you're wrong. Educated people don't vote Liberal, at least not in this country.(US)
Oh, wait, I forgot about Harvard.
My mom grew up dirt poor FYI. She had 11 brothers and sisters (catholics, what can I say?).

And she is now a math teacher at a college with a Master's. She says that it's all due to reading books at a public library, and public services by the state.
That's where you're wrong. Educated people don't vote Liberal, at least not in this country.(US)
There is no real correlation between educational status and social stance. Either way, getting rid of libraries is a bad thing.

i fucking hate reading things on a computer screen
i read a a book once on my computer
never again
Saw the stupid title and the source "MyFox."
Immediately knew that this article was going to be shit. Really, how is Fox so fucked up? Practically the only reason they're popular and get a good cashflow is because Warner Bros decided to give them channel numbers mostly consisting of low, easy-to-spot ones. The CEO of this company and most of it's employees are idiotic beyond comprehension. Remember when they posted a Obama Speech on their website and they edited out the applauding poorly to support their theory that Obama is trying to make the country Socialist? They barely have any idea what they're talking about, as Socialism isn't that bad at all. Europe is holding up better than us with it. Look where a "Democratic" society allowing hardcore religious idiots and soccer moms to make political decisions.
What the fuck are you talking about.
Local Fox stations are actually pretty good. It's the big corporation you're thinking about.
That's where you're wrong. Educated people don't vote Liberal, at least not in this country.(US)

I'm not even going to start with how many things are wrong with this post.

carl sagan was a conservative?

Glaber obviously doesn't believe in science.

Or history
They are not a waste of money at all. Infact everyone uses them at least once in their life, and you have to pay to get books out if I'm correct.
Replace libraries with Ebook centers online. Save alot of cash in the long run.
I kinda agree, I rarely ever go to the library. It's a bit more useful in college, but mostly just for a quiet place with lots of tables and seating to set up your laptop and use the free wifi. I do prefer print to reading on a computer though, reading giant texts on a computer tends to give me headaches. It's a very debatable issue, but I think it's better to just keep them. Great place to get shit done, use wifi, and occasionally read a book. Better to just keep things there just in case.
Also on the subject of Fox, yes they can be extremely dense and biased at times. However they do raise a pretty valid argument here, I never would've thought of this.
no it's not... wtf
Replace libraries with Ebook centers online. Save alot of cash in the long run.
Because everyone has internet.
Of course Fox wants libraries shut down. Libraries educate people, and educated people don't vote conservative.
Actually it's the smart middle aged people who went through college and were smart enough that they were able to make quite a bit if money that vote conservative. Uneducated people, lower middle class people, poor people, and minorities vote the other way typically.
