Isn't this that game where you die if you make one mistake?
Hardly. Played it for the first time today and got quite far, you just need to take a slow and careful approach, learn to lure in enemies one at a time and learn to dodge fast enough. That aside, I hope the PC version will have mouselook & WASD strafe instead of WASD movement (basically 3rd person shooter controls). Lock-on doesn't really work on PC.
Oh and this thing hasn't exactly been confirmed yet, but it's pretty certain now.
Now the question is, does it have Mod Support?
Just be glad that the game is coming to PC in the first place. Barely any games include mod support nowadays anyway.
I love how it's the "Prepare to Die" edition.
I hope it's a good port; i'm gonna want to get this totally hardcore game when it arrives on the PC platform. If From Software implements modding tools with it, that would be like the icing on the cake.
Until that day...

Excellent!
Now let's see if Namco and Bandai can follow up with patches.
Knowing them and other games, good luck :(
This game isn't hard though, the only time I die is if I rush through the map and a trap gets me.
I could care less if it's a horrible port, it's coming to PC, and that's more than expected.
Hopefully it will be like Alan Wake and make up the costs of porting in the first day. It would be nice of namco to show more support for PC in the future.

It will work if they port it properly like they did with Wake.
yeah i've always thought marketing the game as impossibly difficult is stupid, because it's not really difficult, per se, so much as unforgiving. you either learn to play by its rules (and if you do, it's pretty straightforward) or die.
It's goading. "This game is impossible, a pussy like you could never complete it." *Cue millions of copies sold as people try to prove the ads wrong*
now i'll go and smash my balls with a hammer while i wait
Oh God I can't wait until I get to wield gigantic swords and battle monsters.
I really hope they will make a good support though. Good mouse sensitivity, comfortably allocated controls unto buttons, a unique HUD for the PC...
The Hud is really minmal, just your current item, your health and your stamina. It doesn't really need to change much for the PC.
lets hope its optimized and has good controls
I HIGHLY suggest using a gamepad. The game is built around the limitations of the controller and it turns them to it's advantage. Not to say keyboard controls will be bad, just if they are the controller will work fine.
this game reminds me a lot of castlevania
Quick question, can you play as a sort of lightly armored thief?
this game looks like a lot of fun
Thank you motherfucking Jesus.
Guess I know what I'm saving up to sell my soul for this time.
Considering I hang out with a lot of DS players, I have an idea of what I'm in for.
Infinite tears.
Quick question, can you play as a sort of lightly armored thief?
Yes. Arguably one of the best ways to play because armor weight affects your roll speed.
Fuck. Yes.
Oh man, that game is just tedious and annoying. Not worth my money
Yeah the game really isn't that hard. It's just that it's the bane of CoD 13 year old brogamers high on Monster energy drinks, since you have to be slow, patient (something rarely heard of in videogames, especially nowadays) and methodical. It still isn't easy, but once you get into that mindset it's not as superhard as it is advertised.
It's the complete opposite of Ninja Gaiden Black. NGB was stupidly hard and was all about speed and reflexes.
Quick question, can you play as a sort of lightly armored thief?
Since all enemies do so much damage, you are almost always better off dodging as opposed to tanking the blows.
For those who wanted to smash their keyboards while playing Dark Souls, your time has come :v:
I will be buying this.
God dammit, I caved and ended up buying it on Xbox already. WELP. GUESS I'LL BE FORKING OVER ANOTHER 60 BUCKS.
Mother of god.

Yeah, I sort of get that. But then whenever I mention this game to people or recommend it, they just say "Oh, isn't that the game that's REALLY hard? I hate stupid-hard games." And I can never convince them that really, it isn't.

This is my biggest worry about the port. Frankly, there is NO way From could ever get this game to work correctly on a mouse-and-keyboard set-up. I'm sure they'll jury-rig something quite serviceable, but it's never going to measure up to using a gamepad... this game absolutely relies on analog movement and such.
The reason I'm worried is that PC gamers are entitled elitists, and if the game doesn't work 100% on a keyboard they'll accuse From of a lazy port and call them a terrible company or something. As I've said before, PC gamers are just going to need to suck it up and buy gamepads.
I have both Demon Souls and Dark Souls for ps3. Still haven't beaten the final boss :/
