Let this rotting fecal matter that calls itself 'Mendoza' rot in jail.
When I was in university I lived downtown in the city. One time a guy told me he needed help with his car and it was "just around the corner." He tried to bait me in by telling me that he had a big case of beer he would give me for helping him.
No thanks.
had a "homeless" dude ask me for a ride to some church he could have just walked to easily. when I told him no he kept going on about how he and his wife were living in a tent and he swore to god and jesus above that he was telling me the truth
fuck no I know a shakedown when I see one

Even if it wasn't, I still wouldn't let homeless people into my car.
Honestly shit like this is why I stopped helping people out of the blue. I've been mugged twice by people I was being a good Samaritan to.
Yeah my girlfriend goes to school in richmond and people get mugged all the time by homeless people asking for money. When you stop and start to pull out money or your wallet or whatever they throw a haymaker and steal your phone/wallet
this isolated event is why i never stop for anyone
IT happens more often than you'd like to think, just usually doesn't involve death. This is why I only stop to help "stranded motorists" if I'm transporting a firearm and have at least one other person with me. This country has made it a massive health risk to help your fellow citizens in their time of need.

Even so, be careful not to get jumped by 1+ more people hiding close by.
I think all of us can take some cues from Eli:

Spoiler alert
[sp] be blind?[/sp]
I find it's best to call for help, on behalf of the person/s stuck on the side of the road, rather than stop yourself. Keep driving and let cops know about that stranded person. When you get right down to it, someone on the side of the road is a hitchhiker, whether they are standing next to a broken down car or not.
I don't stop for hitchhikers.
