Russians were horrible in ww2, in military history we learned that they would actually drive to villages who didnt even know about the war in very rural parts of russia and orderthem to stop a panzer division. They would give them a gun with little ammo and a grenade. They would be forced, or would be shot on site. Or actual occurances of some soldiers surrendering to the germans, only to have fellow russians shoot at them for deserting to the point that germans actually blocked the shots with tanks to prevent them from killing their own soldiers.
