Sky scrapers don't appear in a month and a half

Uh, what. A month and a half to build six buildings(five of which are skyscrapers)? It took 20 years to build the original 7 WTC buildings, and those only took a year to plan.

It only took like 6-5 years to build the Burj Khalifa.
It only took like 6-5 years to build the Burj Khalifa.
They dont have things like safety regulations or unions or things like that to slow them down.
I still think they're being rather slow with the whole reconstruction.
It only took like 6-5 years to build the Burj Khalifa.
Which is an incredible feat due to it's size, but you have to take into account that they had one of the largest construction forces ever assembled(7,500 workers) and it was only one building. The new WTC is a 7 building complex with only several hundred workers.
Bureaucracy is also a bitch.
I'm offended by these trees. We can't build trees in Ground Zero, it's offensive to those who died.
Hurr durr
This is a good way to remember those who were a victim to the world's largest attack on the United States. While most deaths are from natural causes, dying because an ignorant group of terrorists have blind hate towards the western world must be a terrible way to go.
I'm waiting for the first you tube videos to be uploaded showing people driving rc planes into it.
I'm going to be dancing in hell.
Rating late because I still find it absolutely pathetic that it's been nearly nine years already and nothing's really been accomplished at the site.
I don't think you guys understand how large of a project this is, and how long it's going to take. Remember there are 6 new buildings the smallest of which is 42 stories tall which in most cities would stand out big time in the skyline. Remember all of these projects have been going on at this little site at the same time:
Deconstruction of 1 World Trade Center (completed)
Deconstruction of 2 World Trade Center (completed)
Deconstruction of 3 World Trade Center (completed)
Deconstruction of 4 World Trade Center (completed)
Deconstruction of 5 World Trade Center (completed)
Deconstruction of 6 World Trade Center (completed)
Deconstruction of 7 World Trade Center (completed)
Reconstruction of Con Ed Power Sub-Station (completed)
World Trade Center Memorial Park
World Trade Center Memorial Fountains
World Trade Center Museum
1 World Trade Center, a 108 story building
2 World Trade Center, a 79 story building
3 World Trade Center, a 71 story building
4 World Trade Center, a 64 story building
5 World Trade Center, a 42 story building
7 World Trade Center, a 52 story building (completed)
7 World Trade Center Park (completed)
Deconstruction of the Deutsche Bank Building, a 40+ story building
World Trade Center Transit Hub
Temporary World Trade Center subway and PATH station (completed-soon to be demolished)
Performing Arts Building
Do you really think it's possible to go from the ruins of the World Trade Center to all of that in 9 years? There has been major progress at the site, most being below grade which tends take longer than when a project gets above grade (remember the foundations for these buildings takes at least 6 months, some a year).
Can anyone explain why it takes twenty years estimated to build a cement park with some buildings? Any other project this would be done in a month and a half.
The park isn't just a slab of concrete, it's a roof to a building. That's right below the park is a massive 5 story building (hence why this park is taking so long).

Also, the buildings a being built a normal to fast pace (1 World Trade Center is averaging a floor a week). Here are the most recent construction photos:

I'm not going to bother showing the construction pictures of the other buildings because you need to know a lot about the construction of these things to understand what's going on.

Say it with manners.
Please go fuck yourself
British people think we should get over it, but they still baaawww about that bus exploding.
i agree i think America should get over it and stop acting like it only affected them
Sorry, I was trying to be funny but I guess I forgot about how distasteful it is.
i care more about the Rwanda genocide than i do about 9/11
so we're cool.
Wow that place looks really nice.
Can we please get over 9/11 sometime soon
Planting full grown trees? That's some pussy shit.
1. Insurance companies, the City, construction companies and architects were all fighting each other over how the buildings were going to be rebuilt. Finally got settled in early '08.
2. Thousands of people died there.
3. Probably some stands for selling newspapers and hotdogs? It's NYC, after all.
Thanks, so this will have trees, and didn't someone say it will have a museum? What would they show at this museum?
Thanks, so this will have trees, and didn't someone say it will have a museum? What would they show at this museum?
Likely a history of the buildings, their construction, and the events of 9/11...
I don't think you guys understand how large of a project this is, and how long it's going to take.
Of course it's a huge project. But this is an entire nation's tears and grief poured into a single memorial. Nine years is too long. I don't recall where I read the quote, and who said it, but I agree with whoever came to say that the memorial park and the reconstruction of the WTC site as a whole is more of a representation to how far America has their own head up its ass than a memorial to 9/11.
But this is an entire nation's tears and grief poured into a single memorial.
They should pour concrete into it or it'll just fall over again
People have to forget about this, its not a big fucking deal.

lol
British people think we should get over it, but they still baaawww about that bus exploding.
What the hell are you talking about, they built a memorial bus and a park where the bus used to be the year after the attack.

I recall the attack on Pearl Harbor to be a couple of times bigger than this 'greatest attack on the USA'. Also you being ignorant yourself by calling these terrorists ignorant. Please do us a favour and look up some objective information. I wish I could rate you troll.

Actual there are many attacks larger than that.
I believe the conflict occurring on our own territory that did the most was the Civil War and that was entirely of our own construction.
What the hell are you talking about, they built a memorial bus and a park where the bus used to be the year after the attack.
Took em only a year to build a non-functioning bus, impressive.
They are building 6 fucking buildings, and don't forget that they are still finding human remains at the site.
First ayrab' church's, and now TREES
