And in Alberta, gay marriage is still technically illegal; it's just overruled by federal law. It's basically Texas North, complete with being dependent on oil and being the home riding of the right-wing dickpuppet oilman running the country from the pocket of big business and ruining the national reputation. It even has its own local version of the Tea Party, and they're just as embarrassing and cringe-inducing every time they open their mouths. So, the location is hardly a coincidence. The fact that Calgary is also one of the fastest growing places in Canada and is a major metropolitan hub for the prairies (it and Edmonton) is certainly a factor, of course.
As someone who lives in Alberta everything in this post is true. The only bastion of sanity are the young, university educated people but there's not many of them because the Alberta government seems to actively discourage post-secondary education unless it can contribute to the oil industry and a lot of people I know from university are planning on leaving Alberta once they finish their degree, myself included.
chik fil a's food is super underwhelming legit don't understand why people like it shit even kfc is better
shitty restaurant, we'll trade you guys for Pizza Pizza
So you're saying a company is using it's money to lobby their interest? What a genius idea!
Why are you saying this like it justifies it
chik fil a's food is super underwhelming legit don't understand why people like it shit even kfc is better
Kfc is the worst chicken place are you kidding. /tastes and opinions
It is good food, but I don't eat there anymore because of their political views. When I did they were a great way to tell it was Sunday. Because Sunday is the day you always want Chick-fil-a and then you realize it is also the only day they aren't open. Because of an (un)dead magic Jew.
you hunger on sundays because that is the hunger of your sins [editline]1st June 2014[/editline] repent
Kfc is the worst chicken place are you kidding. /tastes and opinions
Dunno how its like in the US but over here its not actually that bad.
chik fil a's food is super underwhelming legit don't understand why people like it shit even kfc is better
chick fil a > popeyes > church's > kfc get real
most chain fast food is revolting and boring. there's a thousand other options that are arguably better if you live in a town or city.
most chain fast food is revolting. there's a thousand other options that are arguably better if you live in a town or city.
I have to say, for a chain, they make a real damn fine chicken sandwich though.
Zaxby's is the only good fast food chicken I've had in my life, anything else is just different degrees of "acceptable". It's pointless comparing Chick-fil-a to KFC because regardless of which is less awful they're both still awful. If you want good chicken just go to your grocery store deli, still cheap, ready made, and much better tasting
It's fast food. Their chicken sandwiches taste marginally better than McDonalds. I'll never get all the people who say "I don't like their politics but I still go there because their food is just too good." Is it, really? It's not a quantum leap ahead of any of the sandwiches you get at any other fast food place. It's slightly bigger and tastes slightly better and you have to pay extra for toppings on it. C'mon.
i think it blows but its the least overpriced thing in the campus food court why even make a sandwich out of a breaded chicken breast if all you put on it is two pickle slices what the fuck is that
I don't understand what the religious associations of the owner has to do with this, Chickfila is delicious and you guys are missing out if you didn't have them.
There are different types of people when it comes to Chick Fil A. There's:
The people who oppose its politics and don't like the sandwiches (SigmaLambda). The people who oppose its politics but love the sandwiches (most of facepunch). The people who support its politics but hate the sandwiches (odd). The people who support its politics and love the sandwiches (most republicans). The people who don't care about its politics and don't like the sandwiches (who knows who they are). The people who don't care about its politics and love the sandwiches (me).
At the end of the day, they are a strong business that profits from all ends of the political spectrum that makes sandwiches that many regard as good. There are people who are going to be upset that Chick Fil A is as popular as it is, people who are glad that Chick Fil A is around, and people who otherwise don't care and just want the sandwiches.
i wouldn't personally spend money at chik-fil-a but i have no problem if someone else buys me their food
How is this any different? Unless you're only looking to not spend any of your money, that is totally useless, as you're still responsible for giving them money because you ate their food. If you wouldn't eat it, your friend wouldn't buy it for you.
I've never had the sandwiches, I usually go for the Nuggets and waffle fries.
Chik Fil A sandwiches are really good, but that's not why I like them so much. Chik fil a was the best possible place to have a job as a teenager. It was awesome, I had a really kick ass manager who was basically the chillest dude i've ever met. All I ever heard from my friends was endless bitching about their jobs, while I never really had anything bad to say. chik fil a was an awesome place to work.
Anybody else eat their chicken noodle soup? That stuff was heavenly good.
instead of Chik-fil-a they should get Publix so Canadians can know the wonders of a Publix Sub
you guys are about to taste some of the finest chicken sandwiches that ever existed
No, Canada already has Wendy's.
Why are you saying this like it justifies it
because when you give them the money for a sandwich it's not your money anymore [editline]31st May 2014[/editline]
instead of Chik-fil-a they should get Publix so Canadians can know the wonders of a Publix Sub
What's a Publix? I love subs, but I'm fairly certain there isn't one within my city. I mean hell, I only got a DQ like a year ago.
Every Chick-fil-a I have ever been to has always had great costumer service, everyone's always friendly and nice. [editline]31st May 2014[/editline]
It's pointless comparing Chick-fil-a to KFC because regardless of which is less awful they're both still awful. It is leagues better than what McDonald's and other similar restaurants like Burger King could conjure.
Kfc is the worst chicken place are you kidding. /tastes and opinions
I'm beginning to wonder if KFC in the US is still using the oil they switched from up here 5+ years ago. After they announced that change the quality improved quite literally overnight. After the whole wave of getting rid of as much trans fat as possible all of the big fast food chains' food improved.

chic fil a has the greasiest sandwiches, they are not THAT good.
As someone who currently works at Chick-fil-A I can confirm it is a fantastic place to work and anybody who says the sandwiches are no better than McDonald's have terrible taste.
Completely serious question, not setting up a cheap joke or anything. The guy at the top is well-known for his outspoken social views, but is there any sort of word from above on the inside? Everyone loves or hates Chick-fil-A over the guy's views, but I'm curious about internal corporate messaging.
Can we have Tim Horton's now?
