instead of Chik-fil-a they should get Publix so Canadians can know the wonders of a Publix Sub
It's honestly a travesty that not every human being on this planet has access to a Publix deli.
Many franchises near me only hire people who they think are christian. And many have gotten a ton of shitty press due to it. And then people claim it's freedom of religion...
can't you guys like sue the shit out of them for only hiring on a religious basis?
is it better than popeyes
popeyes is great
From my knowledge they don't have spicy chicken, whereas popeyes has SPICY CHICKEN.

Our Chick-Fil-A had spicy chicken sandwiches for a while. Haven't been there recent enough to see if they still have it. Tastes almost nothing like their regular 'wiches. Not in a bad way, but just different.
I tried chick-fil-a for the first time and it's ok-ish... remind me more of Wendy's but with more chicken then beef. I think I perfer Wendy's over Chick-Fil-A just cause I like their burgers more.

Spicy chicken sandwiches are the only way I roll now when I go. Though their breakfast chicken biscuits are pretty good, too.

CFA has had Spicy Chicken for a long time (at least 5+ years). It's my main whenever I go there to eat.

Ahhh alright, I've only ever been to the Chik at my uni's cafeteria, and they've only had regular chicken despite having a sizable menu.

Yes and some have and then they dropped their "requirements"

Was the same at my college, and knowing that spicy chicken sandwiches existed outside of that one chickfila was a terrible feeling.
I think, with the rise of Halal, we need Christal approved, where the food has not been sacrificed to a idol or god. In the christian faith it's actually a teaching that Christians are not allowed to eat food sacrificed to idols or gods.
"4 Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that there is no such thing as an idol in the world, and that there is no God but one. 5 For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
7 However not all men have this knowledge; but some, being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. 8 But food will not commend us to God; we are neither the worse if we do not eat, nor the better if we do eat. " - 1 Corinthians 8:1-8
The Jews, specifically, weren't allowed to eat anything sacrificed to idols. Paul tells Christians that this doesn't apply to everyone.
Not eating at a restaraunt because of political views is stupid
It matters because the company donates money to religious fundamentalist groups that use their political power to oppose gay rights (and reproductive rights).
That's your money they're spending. Whenever they cut a check to some organization that pressures politicians to oppose gay rights, they're able to do that because you, the consumer, gave them that money by buying their sandwiches and their overpriced salads.
There's a long list of companies that are using what is basically slave labor and other immoral practices in other countries to produce common goods for the western world so you can skip that holier than thou attitude thx

You give them their money, they give you your food. It's their money at that point, the transaction is over.

You're still providing them with the means to fund the awful shit they fund. Sure it isn't your money by that point, but it's your fault they now have the money to spend.
Christ, the amount of half-hearted equality support here is actually astounding, if this were a private citizen doing the same thing directly instead of through your favourite fast food chain a good number of you would be up in arms about it.

And I don't see anyone defending those practices so I'm not sure what the point of this post was?
You give them their money, they give you your food. It's their money at that point, the transaction is over.
It's their money because you gave it to them. This isn't difficult. The money you gave them now allows them to use their profits to fund anti-gay groups and lobby for anti-gay legislation.
I don't see why people on FP are so bent out of shape that not everyone might like that. Are mediocre chicken sandwiches that overpowering?

Explain how.
Also again if it were just views that would be one thing. CFA uses profits they earn to actively push their anti-gay stance.
Fuck yes, I have family in Calgary so when I visit them I Wong have to give up my delicious Chick Fil A.
And I don't see anyone defending those practices so I'm not sure what the point of this post was?
Wow I'll just spell it out for you then
Buying goods from the companies =/= supporting their practices
otherwise we're all sinners

Buying goods from the companies == the company having money to spend on their practice.
By extension you are supporting them by providing them a means. You really can't deny that. Whilst you might not agree with their practices, you are still giving them a method to follow through with said practices.
