Some punks mugged an FBI agent and one gets shot. The kid is fucking lucky he's not earned a Darwin award(but god damn he was trying).
Why doesn't anyone answer this part of the argument. Why aren't armed robbers shot on sight because: 1: They are armed (most likely with a firearm)
They haven't done anything to make themselves a threat. I carry a gun much of the time, but I'm not endangering anybody by doing so.
2: They pointed it at somebody and threatened them, but then lowered it an ran, the same as the guy in the article.
Depending on the state and their DA, you probably COULD fire at them. Besides, whenever they are running AWAY from someone, they are running TOWARDS someone else, which is bringing the next victim to the threat.
How much are you willing to bet that the kid looks like this? edit: oh god i just noticed the clock
How much are you willing to bet that the kid looks like this?
You're about to get flamed because the gun is made in OMG ISRAEL!!
Defend yourself or defend your material possessions? The suspects were fleeing.
They stole his ID and his badge. "hurr durr i just got mugged but i have the power to stop the criminals, i should just let them go"
I love how the mother does more complaining over the fact the agent shot him rather than being concerned with the fact her son was assisting in a mugging......... also the FBI agent was well within his rights, people should be happy he was a good shot and managed a non lethal shot, i'm sure if it was just a cop he could have easily shot to kill.

You been playin to many games boi.
It fucking amazes me that the people arguing against this think that every cop has: Super speed Night vision Eyes on the back of their head
I do believe you meant "non lethal shot".
He had the right do do what he did, but if he could manage to shoot both of them and only in legs, there would be nothing to say against him.
He had the right do do what he did, but if he could manage to shoot both of them and only in legs, there would be nothing to say against him.
He's an agent, he probably knows where to shoot to get a none lethal hit. This guy knows what he's doing.
Only in Ohio. Go Blue
Someone tell me why the police should have exclusive right to carrying weapons, and not Citizens, considering Police Officers are notorious for being bad shots.
You know, civilians are allowed to carry weapons allowed for self-defense. :downsowned:
He had the right do do what he did, but if he could manage to shoot both of them and only in legs, there would be nothing to say against him.
not really because he'd probably sever the femoral artery and cause them to bleed out. nonlethal shots don't exist, the closest place for a 'nonlethal shot' is your ass because it's a bunch of fat, no important organs or nerve endings.

He's a fucking FBI agent. I bet he knows what he's doing.
He's not an amateur civilian shooter. He's a fucking FBI agent. I bet he knows what he's doing.
no, you can be the best fucking shot in the world but every single shot carries a risk, there is no nonlethal place you can shoot someone.

There are no vital organs stored in the leg and common sense in many people who know guns and video games would aim for the legs to bring down the person and at the same time have him alive and be tended to afterwards.
no, you can be the best fucking shot in the world but every single shot carries a risk, there is no nonlethal place you can shoot someone.
So we shouldn't shoot anyone? Please. IMO he deserved it either way. Mugging should be a serious crime
Only in Ohio. Go Blue
Because Detroit is such a utopia
Can't blame the agent, he did the right thing, but it's still very sad.
Can't blame the agent, he did the right thing, but it's still very sad.
Why? The agent got his wallet back, and the kid got a valuable lesson in responsibility.
Why? The agent got his wallet back, and the kid got a valuable lesson in responsibility.

One of the robbers put a gun on the friend's head and said, "Don't turn around or I'll blow your head off." The other robber then took the agent's wallet, ID and badge. He did not find the agent's concealed gun. The two robbers ran off and the agent fired twice, striking the 15-year-old twice. Investigators found a gun near the boy --- a pellet gun.
You're armed with a pistol and then a person threatens you from behind with another weapon that you could not see whether it was fake or not. What would your first impulse be if you see two suspects in which they claimed to have a weapon run off with FBI credentials? I can never predict human behavior, but one scenario may be that the robbers would turn and fire at the two men at a safer distance with a weapon in which the agent had assumed they had. I suppose the agent would quickly open fire on the suspect.
I think how he acted was completely just. (the agent, not the boy)
Plus, the agent made sure to place a none-lethal shot.
This is actually an extremely bad thing to do, in the eyes of the law. When you fire a weapon, you shoot to kill. If you're purposefully trying not to kill, a court can find you guilty of acting with unreasonable force. Their argument is this: You're firing a weapon at someone who you have determined isn't enough of a threat to justify using lethal force.

Also, criminals will rarely shoot a victim if they do not fight back. Saves ammo (assuming they even have any in their weapon), and means they dont get hit with attempted/murder, should they be caught.

And it's a damn shame that not every criminal thinks like you do.
Oh well, off to go mug and then shoot bots on the street in APB...catch ya later!
I'm not sure about this. Main reason being that the kid had turned and was running away - he no longer posed a threat to the officer so he wasn't acting in self defence when he shot him. Being as the kid isn't dead, I wouldn't prosecute the officer.
