Shooting someone twice in the back while he runs away from you is not "justifiable use of deadly force". Especially if that person was never armed in the first place. :colbert:
have you ever made a post rooted in fact or is it all assumption and fantasy?
Eh, in nearly every gun rights thread on Facepunch there's always some European(s) yelling 'only the police should have guns :byodood:'
Seems a little trigger happy. The suspect was fleeing and no longer posed an imminent threat. The FBI agent CHASED him and then shot him in the back. The better solution would have been to just call the police. I wouldn't support charges against him, but I think he could have handled the situation better.
I think it's great, the police would have done nothing, they can't trace a stolen wallet and they would never waste their time pursuing a petty theft like that. What he did sent a message to the fucking packs of gang pussies, which is the best thing to do in my opinion.

They found a pellet gun nearby the boy. So yes he was armed.

yes i am going to turn my head around and see what kind of weapon it was with the risk of being severely injured/killed

Trigger happy? Hardly.
Trigger happy would be something like 12 undisciplined wild shots in the general direction of the robber.
Either way I think the off-duty officer made the right call and was definitely not trigger happy, took the time to aim and line up those two shots.

It is if he just a moment before, had a gun (fake or not) to the back of your friends head, and he stole your FBI badge and identification
He did shoot in non-lethal spots, don't worry.
My mom, however, told me that if I am ever threatened, that I should shoot to kill, even if I don't know that he has a gun(IE: a robber in my house). I've always wanted to just shoot them in the leg to get them down, and just have them put in jail. I guess that's not how it works, though. :smith:
you do not shoot you wound, you do not shoot to kill. you shoot to STOP.
getting shot in the leg nets a very decent chance you sever that big old artery running through the middle and the guy will bleed out before getting to the hospital let alone jail.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
In before "My baby didnt do nuthin!"
what a badass
giving them your wallet and then shooting them

Actually the mother is very understanding of the whole situation.

well thank you for proving me right

Exactly. You only shoot to stop the threat. If you say you shot to wound/kill, the prosecution will rip you apart.

Well then, I'm glad to have been wrong. Good to see parents taking responsibility.
Wait so when the robbers ran away, the agent shot at him from behind?

you do shoot to kill.
Protip: Shoot for the knees if ever attacked by an intruder. Unimaginable, crippling pain, no major arteries struck, and most likely a perp easily controllable, bleeding on your floor.
Wait so when the robbers ran away, the agent shot at him from behind?
And? There is an armed gunman running around. Not a very good thing to have.
Remember, Gun + Real FBI Badge = Active Treat regardless of the way he's facing

and then they sue you

Pro tip: Its easier to shoot for a steady center of mass shot, rather than aiming for a small, flailing target.
The better solution would have been to just call the police.
the guy was the police.

The suspect fled, and he chased him down and shot him in the back. There's no reason to shoot someone like that in the back for stealing your possessions.

You feel a barrel of a gun against the back of your head. You hear the safety get flicked off.
"Oh I know for a fact it is a 15 year old boy with a fake gun that looks exactly like a .45 caliber handgun. He poses no threat to anyone and I should just walk away :downs:"
you do shoot to kill.
no.
you fire as many times as necessary to make the target go down and cease being a threat. if you shoot him and he's bleeding on your floor and you go up and finish him off, you will be charged with murder.
LMFAO.
Take that!
Nice to see nobody died. If you're shooting at some punk kid, don't aim for center mass I guess. I think aiming for the shoulders would be good as it would likely disable their arms, and have less chance of killing them.
Though in situations like this you can't necessarily do what is ideal.
The suspect fled, and he chased him down and shot him in the back. There's no reason to shoot someone like that in the back for stealing your possessions.
The suspect had a gun, and now had FBI credentials. That poses a legitimate threat, one could argue even to national security.
the guy was the police.
By police, I mean local law enforcement. FBI agents aren't the same.

Stopping an armed threat that could continue to rob more people, even shoot them.
no.

no i mean your initial shot is made to kill
if they don't die then it's kay and you can call the hospital
