It's either gary or postal. Unless you have a hot ass
postal would make for a better chief hunter because his ass furs would protect him from the fierce driving winds on long hunts for native santa clauses
So, does this have any effect on people outside USA?

I wonder if this is how the big old Civilizations went down. They got too rich and full of themselves so the administration pretty much stopped being the instrument of the people but rather became an entity itself and conflicts started rising.
Seriously Facepunch? The FBI sets up a legal branch to deal with criminals that abuse the internet and you goes go batshit because you think the internet is some sacred, privileged ground where no matter what kind of illegal stuff is on it, nothing ever should be tracked, damn the consequences?

TOR, SSH or VPN? Whats better to prevent interception (reading) of traffic?
This can't be legal.
The reality is that "legal" and "illegal" make no difference to those who control their enforcement. The state wants you to be an obedient docile worker, shut the fuck up and let them read your e-mail and listen to your phone calls. Have you got something to hide? First they came...
You government are slowly becoming fascists
Quick, we need to start creating book people before they come and...

This incredibly illegal and unconstitutional "divison" fucks over normal citizen rather than catch a majority of criminals who know what they're doing when they "abuse" the Internet.

Not to mention how I'm honestly curious how this "fucks over normal citizen[s]".
This can't be legal.
If you're a government official,everything becomes legal.
I have no problem with this as long as they have very strict rules about what "crimes" can and can't be pursued If they start using this to go after pirates and marijuana users, fuck them.
So, does this have any effect on people outside USA?
Right now no. In 5 days yes. Why? Because the USA is the global police force of the world.
Wow conspiracy theorist 101 right here.
Where did I cite a conspiracy theory? Nice collectivist dismissal, sir. Show me your pen0r.
I find it deeply puzzling that people have such biased views against internet communication interception and monitoring when there is a clear need for these technologies to be put in place; there are too many criminals using the internet as a place without laws and that needs to change and the only way to do that is to allow police forces methods of enforcing the law, gathering evidence and catching criminals. What is so wrong with things like this? The only rational reason for you being against this is if you were breaking the law using the internet.
What is wrong with it is that it is attempting to catch a minority at the expense of the privacy of the majority. Also, there are a lot of victimless crimes that this type of monitoring would likely be used to enforce. The state is not an impartial moral arbiter. The governments seem to want more and more to do with people's private communications yet they are still unwilling to open up their own organisations in complete transparency to those that give up their freedoms to be "governed" by them. Just because you aren't doing anything that you think is questionable doesn't mean you should not oppose this type of intervention. (see First they came...) Monitoring public internet communications is one thing but private is something different. Suppose they stop a small terrorist attack with the potential to kill or injure a few hundred people with some private information they happen across? Is it really worth millions losing their right to privacy just for that? I think the monitoring could be ok if it required a warrant but then they would just start issuing warrants for small suspicions based on nothing.
Those damn terrorists, looks like the club penguin meetings have been discovered.
This is what i immediately thought what i read the title.
Umm, JustExtreme is right though. Laws and created and enforced by the government. If they choose to break their own laws then who is going to stop them? Nobody. As far as things like constitutional laws are concerned, they mean nothing to the government. It's the FBI. What the fuck do you think they're going to do? Answer: The same as they always have. Whatever the hell they want because no one can stop them.
Hello golden Please meet pre-political science 101, subject: checks and balances
Scout1 how can you not see this is a huge invasion of privacy that only allows the FBI to catch a small minority of criminals while not respecting the right of privacy among citizens.
Scout1 how can you not see this is a huge invasion of privacy that only allows the FBI to catch a small minority of criminals while not respecting the right of privacy among citizens.
Do you also object to law enforcement running through your charge card's purchases, your paid subscriptions, bank account, and/or calls sent and received/texts? Because they can and already do all of those things. Regularly.

I don't see why any of you have any reason to worry. I mean, it's not like you guys do anything illegal that would warrant it, like pirate things or something.
postal would make for a better chief hunter because his ass furs would protect him from the fierce driving winds on long hunts for native santa clauses
Santa Claus lives in the North Pole. Your searches would be fruitless.
Santa Claus lives in the North Pole. So from what it says in the article, it requires a court order. How is this any different to a court ordered search of someone's house, or getting information on someone's phone calls and bank transactions?

do you people really think they give a damn about random people do you, facepunch REALLY ACTUALLY believe you're so important as to actually be significant enough that they'd search you? the reason this exists is because it'll make it easier to track people that google how to get guns, make bombs, etcetc, all that crap. I don't mean .22's and vodka bombs either, I mean the real nasty crap. High profile internet users. I still think they're really bad at hiding this, though, but, I don't think they should. But at the same time, it seems a little unneeded? Paranoia runs deep, but with so many people, so many are too insignificant to wiretap.
