Brand new 2015 model. They have been in Panama since forever. Hell, the driving school provided a manual 2008 Hilux for me.
I like the older models, they were unbreakable as Top Gear proved when it stuck one on top of a building and blew it up. The 2010+ models I feel would break if you took them on serious off road.
Well it is, as fucking loony as it is. Never said I agreed with him. An opinion can be anything.
Yeah I mean Hitler was just stating his opinion, gosh Sorry for taking it to such an extreme but still When your "opinion" goes as far as to actively harass certain people, that's where I say "hold up, you're being a douche bag." I mean, I'm entitled to voice my opinion that he's acting like a smug asshole, aren't I? [editline]20th December 2015[/editline]
Not offensive to me, but uncomfortably bad.
It can be appreciated from a dark humor standpoint, but it's still kind of poor taste to use as a public advertisement.
If an ad like this came out 5 - 10 years ago, nobody would have given two fucks. Nowadays everyone chooses to be offended over the dumbest shit because their lives are so fucking boring that they have to nitpick every new thing they see.
You're wrong.

It definitely doesn't make me want to run out an buy a Hilux or feel anything towards Toyota except annoyance.
This wasn't even a bad commercial necessarily because the animals accepted their fate. It was a bad commercial because it did almost nothing to sell the idea on buying the truck presented and was in general just kind of stupid. Nothing really lost.
I do not eat meat or hate animals and I really don't give a shit about this ad. There are much bigger problems out there. Like, the fact that you're all eating genetically modified animals. If left alive, they would grow so big that they would die, and they can't even reproduce naturally, nor can they get any exercise. We use more antibiotics on our factory farmed animals than we do on humans, and so they are becoming less and less effective at ending human suffering. They live in shitty, cramped conditions that are breeding deadly illnesses which humans can catch. I won't even start describing the physical and mental torture they go through, because you can find the videos yourself online very easily, but you are too afraid to know the truth. You know that it's bad, but you don't know how bad, and wouldn't want to know. You want to continue living in ignorant bliss. You probably don't even need meat because chances are you're not living in an underdeveloped part of the world where they don't have the variety of food that we do, so you're murdering just for the pleasurable sensations upon your tongue. If you're ignorant of the fact that we don't need meat to be healthy, you have chosen to remain unaware because you'd rather continue pleasing your senses, and you value your selfish pleasures more than life itself. What a great being you are.
What is it with vegans behind the keyboard always talking down on others to convince them to stop eating meat? Is it some superiority complex or something?
imagine actually thinking political correctness was a new thing invented this decade
are you just gonna be snarky or maybe you can elaborate?
Ok, the animal getting itself ran over was funny as fuck. Screaming oh yeah as they smash it.
I'm not surprised. A lot of people here come from 4chan and 4chan finds anything funny. Don't see the big deal. Commercial was weird, but I'm struggling to see how it was particularly "in poor taste" unless you specifically object to eating meat. I mean it's not like it was trying to hide how silly it was.
I know this probably doesn't need to be said but with vegans, as with anything, it's the vocal minority which creates a false image as compared to the usually reasonable majority.
People who haven't grown up entrenched in the internet don't find death as amusing.
Black comedy has been around for a while actually. Not something exclusive to those "entrenched in the internet". It's not as if animals aren't regularly killed for food regardless. If you eat meat you've got to be able to handle at least light hearted reminders of that fact.

Point is that it shouldn't be unexpected to see outcry even to morbid comedy.

As for everything else, I'm glad you've found a way to feel superior to others.

There's a lot of terrible shit out there that's been around for a long time, and them being around for a long time isn't going to stop some people from being bothered by it.
Vegan or not this is a fucking stupid ad
I'm amazed this ad made it all the way through production. I mean sure it's weird, but it's one of those concepts which just isn't super flattering? Animals talking about being proud to be killed and dragged or carried in a truck. Why not focus on the owners of the truck and their trade, the people proud to be hunters or fisherman or something. Going with voiced game just puts it on a very strange angle.
Car company makes ad about animals revelling in their own slaughter, people who literally swear off consuming all animal products complain that it's in bad taste. Is this really surprising? There are considerably more people who whine about vegans than there are vegans who whine about meateaters. At least, in my experience anyway. Complaining about vegans is worse as well, because they're actually living quite a disciplined lifestyle, usually by choice for the good of animals, whereas you're threatening to shove meat down their throats for peacefully expressing their opinion.
Car company makes ad about animals revelling in their own slaughter,
When you put it that way, I approve of this commercial on the basis of it being metal as fuck. The Hilux will bring your foes running willingly into death's embrace. You shall cut a swath of blood through the wilderness, your Hilux adorned of the gore of those who throw themselves upon its path seeking ecstasy in death.
It's also just a really stupid ad. It definitely doesn't make me want to run out an buy a Hilux or feel anything towards Toyota except annoyance.
You forget what ads are meant for. Especially car ads/beer ads. They're trying to grab your attention, even if it's ~controversial~, it's still getting attention about the product.
You're wrong.
Oh shit you said i'm wrong that must be it, fuck. Good job man
imagine actually thinking political correctness was a new thing invented this decade
Of course I don't think that, the hell is your problem dude? You can't honestly tell me though that the past years have slowly becoming more and more and more politically correct. Everyone just gets offended over every little thing that doesn't fit inside their safe space.
Black comedy has been around for a while actually. Not something exclusive to those "entrenched in the internet".
What is it with vegans behind the keyboard always talking down on others to convince them to stop eating meat? Is it some superiority complex or something?
I personally find edgy manchildren like mr OP significantly more obnoxious
I know this probably doesn't need to be said but with vegans, as with anything, it's the vocal minority which creates a false image as compared to the usually reasonable majority.
Thanks, I'm vegan and I can't stand the ones that cause people to hate us. I'm not "offended" by this but it is a bit creepy.
I'm not vegetarian/vegan, but I find it funny that they have a reputation for being preachy or pretentious when comments like this get made.
As a vegetarian, a good chunk of people I know don't learn unless the topic comes up, or we have lunch together. Never once have I, or any vegetarian/vegan friends of mine been 'preachy', but I've been called stupid nicknames and the 'hurr durr, vegans r dum, bacon iz great' jokes you see on the Internet are so god damn annoying :v:
I live on a vegetarian diet, and I thought the advert was fucking hilarious. Total sense of bad taste, but pretty funny morbid comedy. Certainly not suitable for a marketing campaign of course - more something that should have been stopped before it got out, rather than remove it because of backlash. The damage is already done then.
This is so bad I love it
It's fucking morbid but gets the job done
