Fuck no
Keep /r/babyelephantgifs, and then nuke the rest of the site.

why don't people stop bitching about youtube being horrible and just stop using youtube all together??
because the community and the content that it releases is absolutely huge when you compare it to its alternatives.
but they never tell you or indicate its removal.
*: mods in other subreddits can voluntarily opt to inform you of removals, but mods of larger subreddits generally don't do that, with few exceptions, especially if AutoModerator is configured to remove comments in a thread en masse for whatever reason. Bans however will always send a message, though some subreddits opt to use a "<subredditname>_mod" account, which would generally be for announcements, but can also be used to disguise who is banning you in some instances where shady stuff is going on.
It is definitely a bit of bullshit that you have to view your post from a logged out session/another account to verify moderator removal though. There should be a little red "X" visible only to you to indicate that a mod removed it, as submitters can still see their comments in their original form.
rofl they're taking this so seriously it's ridiculous

This is how people have been reacting to all this 'corruption' bollocks. People seem to think that getting mad into a keyboard makes them a private dick, hot on the trail of a dark corruption case.
agreed. also with the "gamergate" crap, lmao.
lol media cover ups and forced agendas are funny right?

Its funny because of all that digging we actually have found legit corruption. You can dance around and mock this whole thing all you want, but if that's all you're gonna do, why get involved?

If you get shadowbanned they don't tell you either, and that is far more serious than just a removed post. They want to shut you up.

i dont think you understand
the internet is serious business
Reddit admins are seriously not involved enough in the community. It's a big problem.
If you get shadowbanned they don't tell you either, and that is far more serious than just a removed post. They want to shut you up.
That's kind of the whole point of an admin "shadowban", but if you contact the admins, they'll usually give a reason as to why they did it (these are generally only reserved for violations of the sitewide rules).

Regardless of your mockery of the situation, Reddit is one of the largest and most popular websites on the internet and people rely on Reddit as a source of information. When information is being manipulated, the people who go on there are being manipulated as well and that's never a good thing.
Its funny because of all that digging we actually have found legit corruption
And what are you doing to stop it beyond inciting more pointless, bollocks hot air on a forum?
You can dance around and mock this whole thing all you want, but if that's all you're gonna do, why get involved?
Because it keeps getting thrust into my eyeline and I keep hearing it in the periphery, and that draws my attention to it and when I actually pay attention I realize it's a load of bollocks, and like every other wanker with a keyboard I seem to think my opinion matters, when really I'm actually using it for the self-satisfying purpose of feeling like I contributed to a discussion that actually has no discussion. It vents my feelings about it and I don't have to ponder it again. It's an entirely narcissistic and self-feeding exercise and the only reason I feel like a good guy is because I believe that my 'side' is entirely absolved of any issues it might have and fighting for the right cause, when really I don't seem to realize that every other 'side' thinks the exact same thing. It's a pointless, hollow exercise meant to give me and others cheap, expendable reactions and emotions to an incident that as a whole really, really doesn't matter to my life nor the lives of anyone except those directly involved in the incident and one I will probably not think about again in five years. Beyond a year, this incident will be as obscure as any other two-bit pointlessly perpetuated scandal and beyond some changes that might have a ripple effect that can't be exactly pinned down to this incident, nothing will change. Some people might lose their jobs or get bumped down the payroll, but in the end it's just another load of bollocks. I love the word bollocks.
Hello fellow internet dwellers,
I am a Reddit migrant seeking refuge from the tyrannical hand of Reddit Moderators. The accusations are in fact true as I bore witness firsthand of their despotic moderation and censorship tactics. I hope to stay here and recuperate with other reddit refugees and enlighten others. We have been through a great deal and hope you join us in the fight against these tyrants.

So you don't get involved and mock it instead because you're so cynical that you don't actually want to find out or make any sort of change in anyway.
And because it doesn't matter to you, it deserve and people involved deserve ridicule because you don't find it as a worthy push. How self centered are you?

Several gaming journalism sites have started up in response. Anyone involved in gaming knows that Kotaku and Polygon are shit now. People know about the scandal because the discussion has been going on for almost a solid month now. Even my friends who don't play games know about this.
You can say that a forum post is doing nothing but when there's dozens of videos on YouTube with hundreds of thousands of views, tens of thousands of comments across the largest multicultural websites on the internet and there's new organizations starting in response to this corruption shows it being anything but "pointless ranting on a internet forum".

Thanks for ignoring the entire point I made. My point was that I criticize it and I insult it because I see it as nothing but a load of back-patting that won't accomplish anything.
Once again, if you're going to say "you don't want to find out or make a change in any way", then please illustrate what changes you are making, if you're supposedly a big part of this argument and an expert in the matter. What changes are YOU making then, if I, an outlier, am not? What changes can I make to follow your example? You aren't bringing me to your side, you're ostracizing me and making me revile you and vindicate my side further.
This is the crux of the problem. Nobody wants to inform or actually converse, everybody just wants to reinforce themselves and pat themselves on the back.

Feel free to respond to my post then. There are changes being made, even on the sites that are implicated in the media scandal. There is positive discussion going on, new sites are being started, word is getting out that there is corruption within the press and that discussion is already feeding into other forms of media. I've seen several popular websites that deal with Hollywood and the film/television industry report on this. I don't see why there's a problem with that. I don't see this topic dying out any time soon.

No, I didn't ignore it because apparently the only people that matter in this, are the people that actually have corruption charges about this.
You don't have to be a great mind or have information or even be completely involved in this to make a change. Numbers matter when you're trying to effect cultural change. You refute this and state that only those with power and a voice will change and should change anything which is not how any sort of mass movement works, ever. The Civil Rights movement didn't work just because Martin Luther King spoke up, he had a normal everyday African Americans backing him the fuck up.
I'm not comparing this whole scandal and movement to that, mainly because this is just a minor foot note compared to that massive undertaking. But its completely naive and insulting to tell someone they don't matter so they shouldn't take part. What you have said is a load is basically a massive load of cynicism.
Why don't people stop bitching about reddit being horrible and just stop using reddit all together??
I have, but its influence is so large that its hard not to stumble across things from there
Reddit is a free website that prides itself on being free as long as you follow guidelines.
They've then said that they wish to be a "Government" or some shit following /r/TheFappening.
You can have shitty subreddits that are completely obscene and grotesque or racist, however, if you decide to go against reddit's little pet subreddits they'll immediately shadowban you.
It's fucked.
Really, really fucked.
The point of the OP is that it isn't, content gets influenced by companies paying up.
What the fuck happened to the internet? It's suddenly so serious business it hurts.
"Reddit corruption", here's two words I never expected to see together
People are starting to see sites like reddit as replacements for other things they'd see as "official" like newspapers, television, media and communication in general.
Dunno it's pretty serious business for these things to work properly right i guess.
This is the crux of the problem. Nobody wants to inform or actually converse, everybody just wants to reinforce themselves and pat themselves on the back.
You don't want to converse either, all you've been doing in this topic is acting like you're better than everyone else for not caring about something.

Agreed. I hate reddit with a passion but there's some really cool shit on there.
i wish no one would pay any mind to reddit and it would just wither away
I hate video games now, I hate the industry, I hate the "journalism", I hate the people, I hate the communities, and how everything has been revealed to be this big retarded conspiracy, a monster made of dicks and pussies fucking itself and tromping over everything in sight.

I don't see why you hold any faith in sites and videos creating a reaction to this considering a vast majority of this argument was born out of corruption of the exact same sites and mediums. What prevents these sites from being biased? Are you so sure that you're not just biased because they're agreeing with you? I'm not trying to paint some grandiose, dramatic image of a Deus Ex-like landscape or any shite here, I'm just trying to say that it's kind of easy to ignore the flaws in things when they agree with you.
No, I didn't ignore it because apparently the only people that matter in this, are the people that actually have corruption charges about this.

I'm cynical and I refuse to join a side other than my own or inform myself on the matter because nobody has actually tried to engage me or tried to give me any reason to side with anyone. Instead all I've seen is a bunch of piss-poor pathetic keyboard warrioring that has just made me hate both sides with equal scorn and made me decide that "they're all arseholes, so fuck 'em". This argument honestly doesn't even matter to me, and I don't know why I draw back to it.
Maybe I'm that much of a narcissist that I have to express my view, or maybe I just love a pointless internet scrap. Either way, this entire thing makes me feel soberly depressed (ironic considering the center of it is a game that so horribly skews the perception of depression and represents utterly nobody who's depressed.) considering I've fallen into self-destructive and belligerent behavior like this before. It's like seeing a ghastly reflection of myself, and maybe that's again borne out of the narcissism I've been so deathly afraid of being stricken with. Maybe I'm just taking it too seriously and far too much to heart subconsciously. Either way this entire thing makes me upset and I feel better if I rage against the machine in a hollow manner that I can fire and forget.
I don't think that this applies to real movements, by the way. Comparing it to Martin Luther King Jr. is just absolutely heinous, man.
You don't want to converse either, all you've been doing in this topic is acting like you're better than everyone else for not caring about something.
I'm not better than anyone else. I just have a different stance, I suppose. Maybe I'm too confident in myself. Either way I'm going to back down and just leave it on my final notes that I'm sorry if that this is entirely my fault for letting my ego get the best of me. I feel like an arsehole and I've probably come on way too strong.
Jesus this entire thread has become a "lol look at these nerds for caring about something they love" circlejerk.
