Hurray for more murder and killing!
That's ISIS's only language. The French wanted to communicate. They had to speak it.
Literally everyone hated nazis besides nazis and WW2 happened anyway.
the strategic and military power of 1939 germany is miles ahead of anything ISIS currently has, they're in no way comparable
the strategic and military power of the 1939 germany is miles ahead of anything ISIS currently has, they're in no way comparable
They are growing in size with every bombing against them when innocent civilians are killed. They use that as recruitment material.
Literally everyone hated nazis besides nazis and WW2 happened anyway.
Italy? Japan? Romania? Bulgaria? Hungary? Croatia? Thailand? Are you ignorant of history?
Nice and all but bombs alone don't break them. Is there any actual progress lately in retaking territory from IS? I did remember reading about the Kurds retaking a city last week. [editline]16th November 2015[/editline] I'd be happier to read when they clean up and revitalize the poor neighbourhoods around Paris and Brussels where the terrorists actually came from. If you stop the spread of IS' ideology there, they can't hurt us.
Hurray for more murder and killing!
Of these guys? Hoo fucking ray indeed, might pour myself a glass of blue label for each of these bases bombed The point is, get off your high horse and stop with the inappropriate holier-than-thou nonsense.

I wonder who's giving them the data, considering that Raqqa is in Syria and the Russians have been fairly blunt about who they let in/out of the country's airspace
Hurray for more murder and killing!
You ever stop to think that sometimes, violence does solve problems?

You can set it back in time though and see what's changed

Chamberlain thought he could talk Hitler out of it, that failed. Churchill replaces Chamberlain and kicked Hitler in his balls.

Just that celebrating feels inappropriate too. It's like putting down a rabid animal, you kill it out of necessity. I'd rather see the war end too, but I understand the need for a strong retaliation.
It seems like they're not done yet, activists in Raqqa are still reporting more planes flying over

I won't mourned their deaths.
Curious, what aircraft are they using?
You ever stop to think that sometimes, violence does solve problems?
It's not just as simple as that, violence doesn't solve everything however all that has to be done for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. and really what is there left to do? We're dealing with a group of largely intolerant, racist, and fanatical people who simply refuse to negotiate based on logic and think we're the ones who are insane as they maraud around killing people and destroying historical artifacts among other things. What makes matters worse is that the organization that they're under does not even seek to exist on the same level as anyone else because they can't because they know and we know they won't win like that so they largely cannot be negotiated with. It's horrible and it's messy but they're the bastards who think it's 'cunning' to hide behind innocent people in ways that get to levels that are downright sociopathic, they won't negotiate on normal terms because they actively twist and meddle with morality to get things done and no one will ever agree with them, it's the same thinking as a bully who hits people because he thinks they won't hit back because he teaches sunday school or some shit. This is it, really the only thing we can do is hit back.
Relevant picture [t]http://i.imgur.com/CVmMDDJ.jpg[/t]
I really dont know if the best idea is to fight back more and more. That's exaclty what they want, to be more persecuted, excluded, and give reasons to more lost minds to join their forces. That said, since I've been taking care and cleaned blood of total strangers injuried by bullets, rescued in my own appartment (living 50 meters away from Bataclan) I would loved to sign that myself.
Just curious in terms of how much of a whacking the French are willing to deal out
It's far too early to speculate how and what the French are willing to do. Right now, the French have forces in Mali and parts of Africa and have been conducting airstrikes in the Middle East for some time. For all we know, Hollande is having under-the-table conversations with their military chiefs of staff and are weighing options about how to approach this or how much more France is willing to commit after the attack in Paris. For all we know at this very moment, French soldiers are getting geared up and more bombers are en route to the Middle East from their jumping-off points. It's like when Kerry(?) was talking about military action in Libya just hours before our first bombs fell and we had B-2's flying out from airbases in the US.
It seems like they're not done yet, activists in Raqqa are still reporting more planes flying over
It would be a joke if France just did one big bombing run and left it at that as "retaliation" then continue on as normal again. France ought to go in all the way with more bombings like this potentially is.
Hurray for more murder and killing!
Feels relevant.
kicked hitler in his balls? millions died. its so easy to be all jingoistic about "getting the guns and bombs out", but that jingoism is set upon the corpses of innocent people
What else are you supposed to fucking do then? Just stand around and wait for ISIS to attack London? Berlin? Rome? Moscow? No, you don't, you use the technology and connections the great nations of this world has built up over the course of thousands of years to do one thing. Destroy these assholes so we can play with our smartphones and robots in peace. [editline]15th November 2015[/editline] This just wasn't a small assault on a magazine company, Paris was a big planned thing. 150 lives are gone, and hundreds more were injured. The high horse is dead, been dead since WWI. innocent civvies getting killed in the crossfire sucks balls always, but sometimes you can't help these things.
kicked hitler in his balls? millions died. its so easy to be all jingoistic about "getting the guns and bombs out", but that jingoism is set upon the corpses of innocent people
Yes let's just continue to let ISIS perform terrorist acts around the world with no one fighting back against them... Innocent lives were already lost, and there will always be innocent lives lost during conflicts. But why let the bad guys live as they continue to kill more civilians of a nation?
Feels relevant.
And the quote to go with that from the book:"My mother said violence never solves anything." "So?" Mr. Dubois looked at her bleakly. "I'm sure the city fathers of Carthage would be glad to know that." … I was not making fun of you personally; I was heaping scorn on an inexcusably silly idea — a practice I shall always follow. Anyone who clings to the historically untrue and thoroughly immoral doctrine that violence never settles anything I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and their freedoms."
