How many hostages were taken then? How many different locations were attacked simultaneously?
I'm saying having guns won't stop large scale terror attacks. It didn't stop over 200 people from being injured in boston. I also don't see how guns would stop the fact that Daesh is good at logistical planning.
Guns can't stop a bomb, no, because you don't know it's there until it's already detonated. What it CAN stop is a small number of gunmen taking hundreds of people hostage in a building, or Mumbai style where the police are chasing terrorists around town in running gun battles for 3 days.
To be honest guns and bombs are like the dumbest way to cause mass causalities, you make yourself an extremely easy target. If they were smart they'd just get a few people to pour gasoline near the exits of large buildings Like hotels or something and light it on fire at the same time, and run off. No gun battle, no combat risk, no difficult materials, minimal intel trails to follow. Just horrific grizzly fiery death. I guess they just like feeling the power of shooting people. We should probably be glad that people are dumb enough to use combat methods in these attacks, it's like the dumbest way to go about it. What terrifies me is that eventually they'll realize they can target infrastructure and kill way more people that way. What would happen if Electricity, Water, Gas, and all those types of infrastructure just went down for weeks? Or if some group just kept starting forest fires constantly? How can you fight that?
Wat?
