Colorado Springs is on fire, again. Uncontained wildfire tearing through residential neighborhoods
Wind changed direction again, going hard to the north-north east. I climbed the hill in front of my house to get above the ridge that separates my view of the fire. It sends shivers through my entire body, I can see the flames from up there, entire trees exploding into fireballs.
Yap. Smells thick of smoke here in Aurora/Denver, now. Pretty Hazy all around, too. Reminds me of high humidity days near the coast. No blue in the sky, just gray haze.

Also, I was watching a broadcast from the Springs this morning at work and they were saying it is still pretty un-contained.
Rancid smoke smell inside my office in Highlands Ranch. Visibility is about a mile.
Things are better here in Castle Rock, though.

Figured. It's been reeking of wood smoke damn near all day.
Man, the springs can never catch a break.
Denver stinks bad. I can smell it in this classroom in Auraria North building.
Taken from the top of Fillmore Hill. I chose this one in particular because you can see some spotty fires if you look closely below the outline of the hills in the distance.

oh shit they're reading off a list of homes lost and I recognize some of the addresses from work
They may or may not evacuate where I am now.
The person I'm staying with can't tell if we're in an optional evac zone :v

It's freaky how even if you're not near the fire the smoke spreads and makes the sky turn really red when the sun's going up/down

At my work we had ash falling on us from a fire that was well over 60 miles away. The smoke dimmed the sun to a point that it looked like sunset at 11 o'clock in the afternoon.

Not this fire mind you, we had quite a few in Utah last year.
Littleton is really hazy, it got dark around 3 pm and you can smell the smoke and feel it in your eyes
CO springs is where the majority of my family lives, and I'm visiting there in a few weeks. hoping it gets put out soon.

I took a ton last night, give me a moments time to scale them down a little and I'll upload them.
I've realized that the worst thing about living in Colorado Springs right now isn't the threat of losing all my possessions in a fire, it's the fact that every time I open my windows I end up getting hungry.
