Florida urologist to Obama supporters: Seek medical care elsewhere
Why should the hard work that I do go towards something other than me and my needs? I'm not working for myself and a couple hundred thousand poorer people, I'm working to support me and my family. If you want to help the poor, go volunteer at a soup kitchen.
And this new bill is really not a good thing for medical institutions, especially private ones like that. And he's not refusing service, he's telling them to leave. Which he's legally allowed to do, because nothing says he can't encourage no service. He'll still treat them.
Shitstorm approaching.
It's called not being a selfish dick.
It's called not being a selfish dick.
No, it's not. Selfish is keeping something when other people deserve it or should have it. I deserved any money I made and I should have that money. Jose didn't do shit for my money, why should he get it?

You don't deserve the money, you were fortunate enough to be born with it.

Like I said before, go live in the fucking mountains if you want.
But when you live in a society you're damn well going to pay to contribute to it.

He's already stated that he has a job. I don't go bust my ass at work all day so the government can take it all away.

who paid for your school that enabled you to bust your ass in the first place?
oh shit, you fucking socialist.

I contribute to society by doing my fucking JOB.
I contribute to society by doing my fucking JOB.
Doing your job contributes to the company you're working for. You use roads so you pay for roads. You use the police service so you pay for the police service. You use emergency rooms so you pay for emergency rooms. All of these things allow you to live comfortably in a safe clean society.
EDIT: Yeah, this post wasn't thought out very well. I address it later.

Great. I don't have a problem with that. Do I use someone else's health insurance? Nope.

He's a student, and his parents pay his way through college.
I doubt he has a job.
He's a student, and his parents pay his way through college.

Who said my parents pay my way through college? I have a job.
Besides, my parents paying anything is irrelevant anyway. They're choosing to support me, which is different entirely.
Great. I don't have a problem with that. Do I use someone else's health insurance? Nope.
No one uses anyone else's health insurance. Under the bill that just passed Congress, the money that would normally come out of Medicare to cover ER visits of the uninsured will now subsidize insurance for low-income people.
Who said my parents pay my way through college? I have a job.
You did.
My parents are not required, by law, to provide me with a college education. They're choosing to, and there's the difference. I don't want to be required to fund other peoples' things.
You are quite dense.
You have the good fortune to have parents who pay for your college education.
My point is that everyone should have the same opportunity, regardless of parents.
Great. I don't have a problem with that. Do I use someone else's health insurance? Nope.
You're missing the point entirely. You pay for ALL roads, even the ones you don't use. You pay for the police, even when you don't call them. I just worded my last post a bit stupidly.
My parents are not required, by law, to provide me with a college education. They're choosing to, and there's the difference. I don't want to be required to fund other peoples' things.
No, I don't think people should be denied the opportunity to learn. But saying they're denied the opportunity gives the impression that I'm their only shot at education. And if I am, I really don't care.
If you don't care about helping other people why should we care about your entitlement complex?
There's more of us than there are of you.
It's not an entitlement complex. Explain to me where my line of thinking is wrong.
I do work, I get paid for that work. I did the work to get paid, therefore I deserve to get the money that I'm paid. I did the work, therefore I can use it for what I see fit. A poor guy didn't do my work (or any work), so why should he get my money?
I don't understand why you're arguing with me. Selfish or not, if you do work, you alone are the one who should get paid for doing it. And it's not right, logically or morally, for someone that did none of the work to be allowed, by law, to get my money that I worked for.
And again, TH, I didn't say I don't care about helping other people. I'm saying if I want to help other people I should be allowed to choose to do so. I won't support something forcing me to help. And don't act like this bill means that YOU'RE helping people. Great, so now Jamal can get a bandaid. Too bad he'll fucking starve to death alone and cold in the streets because he doesn't have food or shelter. But that's not your problem, you're subsidizing his health insurance. That'll come in handy when he's freezing to death in the gutter.

This was a really stupid post, which surprised me because most of your posts are usually more level headed than most people. By contributing to the company he is working for, he is contributing to their continuation, and that company will pay taxes. Not to mention the taxes he pays right of his paycheck every week.
If you have a job, no matter what you do in this job, you are contributing to the country through taxes. I could design teddy bears that are made of the finest materials with diamonds stitched in and sell them to rich people's kids who will grow up to never work a day in their lives, and I'd still be contributing to the country just as much as the person who fixes cars and earns the same salary.

TH89, if you see this, I just want to point out that this guy is using "ethnic" names (Jamal, Jose, Emilio) to refer to the "deadbeat" people that he's supposedly helping out with his "hard work."
Sounds a little racist to me.
@Zinzayen: I think that you're having trouble relating to the people who are getting "handouts" because they're not white males like yourself. I know of tons of working-class whites who work hard but still can't pay for their medical bills since their insurance doesn't cover routine or even essential procedures.
Take the hardware store owner with a recurrence of mouth cancer - he had to buy insurance which doesn't cover dental coverage. In order to receive radiation treatment so he doesn't die, he needs 6 teeth pulled (abscessed teeth from radiation = necrosis of the jaw = not pretty). He can't pay the dentist $1,200 to pull the 6 teeth. In order to get his insurance to cover the tooth removal, he's being taken to the hospital's operating room and being operated on by ENT surgeons. As a result of this, the insurance company is going to be paying over $5,000. Do you see something wrong with this?
Not everyone who is struggling to pay their medical bills is one of those brown people you seem to hate so much. People from all ethnicities are having trouble. Get it through your thick head.

I'm not being racist. Statistically, the lower class is comprised of minorities. I happened to pick those names at random. And quite frankly, it doesn't matter who's the subject here. The fact of the matter is, it's my money, I worked hard to get it, and it's wrong that I'm subsidizing someone's health insurance because they're too poor to pay it. If Bob doesn't have the money to pay for health insurance, why is that my problem? There are free clinics everywhere in the country for medical problems.
I like how he assumes "it's not good for us".
But whatever, another right-leaning nut.
I would think taking a business which makes up for a fifth of our economy, in the midst of all our economic trouble, and trying to turn it into the benevolent society isn't exactly a good thing, never mind whether this new form of healthcare is a great idea or not. Besides, if our politicians really cared about the people, they would enact the new taxes and the health care at roughly the same time. Which they haven't, in their efforts to "help" all the people that need "insurance." You know, that insurance they'll be forcing us to buy.
Have you even looked at the polls recently, at how many people are opposed to this? I strongly doubt that every single one of those people are so badly deceived by the nonexistent conservative media that they would oppose the bill like they do. I guess all those Canadians coming here for treatment don't exist, right? I guess Fox News just invented all those people, right?

You are heartless.
You are heartless.
You're forcing someone to pay for someone else. Don't factor in why, just consider that phrase. If it doesn't sound wrong to you, then you deserve to be sent back in time to live in Soviet Russia. They had free health care too, and everyone worked for everyone's good there. It was a perfect country, right?
What's to stop people from clogging up the ER because they have a headache? People go for stupid enough reasons already; we don't need more people in there for stupider reasons because it's "free." We have to pay through taxes for that, you know.

Free clinics everywhere? What kind of wacky bizzaro world US do you live in?

Your ability to be paid in exchange for work is predicated on a massive underlying structure of quid-pro-quo arrangements. It's the reason you have career options that aren't "till soil" and "eat squirrels."

And, like communism, that'd be a wonderful, beautiful system if everyone actually did choose to participate to the best of their ability. But we live in real life, and structure our systems of government accordingly.

Polls are bullshit no matter who they come from. I'll also wager that way more Americans go to Canada for healthcare than the other way round.:10bux:

Let's see some proof. If that were really true, there wouldn't be Canadians running to us and telling us about horrible waits for anything that isn't an emergency.
Even NBC had a thing on this health care stuff, and they referenced Sweden as the "model" system. They even acknowledged that there are long wait times. By the way, NBC isn't conservative to my understanding, so it's not some sort of smear attempt by all those radical conservatives that are seemingly the reason for every bad thing that happens these days.

Instead of being a moron and just going "HAHAHALOLOLOLOMGLOL" at an opposing opinion, how 'bout you present some sort of argument?
Just a question, though. Are you one of those people who is an athiest who promotes tolerance? Because your post reeks of intolerance.
When you're mature enough to actually debate like an adult, come back here.

He's doing the whole fox news thing where you only cite the polls that agree with you, even when the majority disagree. It's a fun practice.
