Young Han Solo finally cast for 2018 prequel/spin-off - Alden Ehrenreich to play the character
It's also really expensive so why bother?
Not entirely, CGI is usually cheaper then actually getting actors and practicality into films, that's why it's so heavily used now. It worked in Tron fairly well for a few scenes since that was all that T:L needed, but to use it as the entire lead role character? That's a whole other story.
What is this cancer reference from, exactly?
It's from Strife (old 90s action rpg using the doom engine) but he got it wrong
It's "You have cut the cancer from your body. But your heart still beats."
I wonder how they'll explain how Han lost that jawline in when he got older
The neck sags when you get older, jawlines aren't forever.
can't we just use cg to strip a few decades off of ford
wow no jesse eisenberg? wtf
Not sure if you're being sarcastic but he's the least charismatic person.

Alden Ehrenreich is much better actor than Ford ever was, kid will do fine.

it's time to move on, man
Prequels butchered Obi-Wan as a character. Him and his whole section of the possible expanded universe. That damage cannot be undone.

I get what you're saying, but that's because George Lucas was writing and directing. Ewan McGregor was an excellent fit, if there were competent people behind an Obi-Wan film it could be great.
If Ewan McGregor would revisit his role as Obi-Wan (which is entirely possible), there wouldn't be a rush to make that movie I believe. Looked up a few pictures of him and he hasn't changed much since 2005. He's still also fairly young so even if it took 10 more years he would absolutely kill it.
What how? Obi-wan was one of the sole redeeming aspects of the prequels. He was great, Ewan McGregor was really good in that role.
Ewan McDonald was perfect for that role
Such a shame George "i'm awesome" Lucas fucked those movies up so bad
If there's one thing every film they've directed has in common, it's everyone questioning the concept and predicting it'll suck, only for the movie to release and turn out to be gr8. These guys are absurdly talented, and this movie is gonna be awesome.
So you mean two relatively unproven people who have made kids movies and 21rst jump street? It's generally a smart thing to question things rather than to just accept them at face value.

There's such a thing as a "really good track record" and these guys sure as fuck have it.

one of those is the lego movie tho
far wittier than your average kids movie

They make 4 blockbuster films and they are unproven?

they're a writer/director duo with 14+ years of experience, four very successful films and even a (short-lived) TV show. On what planet is that considered 'relatively unproven' lmao. yeah it's pretty safe to not worry that much about how this film will end up.

I hope you are not including 21/22 Jump Street because they sucked shit; it makes them look bad if your goal is to bolster their film credentials. Just watch both of the movies.

22 didnt pull me in as much but 21 jump street is a really great, fun movie

2 of which are kids films, one is a sequel. Kids films don't really have that good of a plot, I mean there are a few exceptions here and there like wreck it ralph, zooptopia, and UP, but overall they just don't really seem to interest me.
I wasn't that big of a fan of 21rst jump street but it isn't a bad film.
It's fair to say they're still relatively unproven in the sci-fi genre.

They're still four successful movies, so I wouldn't call them 'unproven people'. Not that plot strength really matters here since they're not writing this, but out of curiosity have you actually seen either of those family (not kids) movies they made?
It's fair to say they're still relatively unproven in the sci-fi genre.
Well yeah but you only said unproven before lol. But again they aren't writing this, Lawrence Kasdan is. All they gotta do is carry his script out competently, and since they've proven themselves to be good directors I'd say they've proven they can handle it. They can certainly handle action and family films, all they need to add in now are aliens and weird sets.

they did great with the lego movie, which was a family film
and at heart star wars has always been a movie you could watch with your family

What? they've only made 4 feature films INCLUDING 21 and 22 jump street.
I don't get what you are getting at.

Did they? They've been pretty much unanimously well received by pretty much everywhere I've seen.
