• NH Man Loses Life Savings On Carnival Game

I won a 6 foot bear at six flags a few years ago on ring toss. Spent five bucks on a bucket of rings, sold it for 20 bucks in a yard sale.
how the fuck do you blow $2600 on a carnival game?
The prizes can be taunting sometimes. I spent $40 on a game to win a PS3, and actually won. Bastards never sent me my PS3, they didn't actually have one there, just an empty box. Oh well, was years ago, and i asked someone there a few years ago about it, he said that a guy they hired was fired and arrested for not giving out prizes, and i think that's the guy, and i haven't seen him ever again.
2600$ is hardly a life savings. I'm 19 and in college and I already have more than that.
I'm a college student and I have exactly $2,600 in the bank. I need a job :v:
poor people logic
did he win or get it out of petty
If it were pity, they should have just given him the Kinect They'd still have what... about a $2550 profit margin? If I was working at I carnival I would have done that or just stopped giving him balls
There's a reason we call it Machvegas.
Imagine if this guy went to Vegas. He'd be homeless within hours.
that's how we do it in new hampshire
How does one rig a bucket?
Pam cooking spray.
He could have just gone out and bought himself a kinect, would have cost him less. Its like how those claw games are seriously rigged, they have the ends of the claws super smooth and polished so that you can't get a grip as easily, once you know that and compensate for it, you can get really good at nabbing things. Once spent just £1 and ended up with a 6 foot stuffed dog, on the first try. The trick to getting the balls in them buckets is throwing it in such a way that when it lands in the bucket it has as little horizontal velocity as possible, and maybe some spin to compensate for any bouncing that may happen. You'd be amazed at how I'm able to get a tennis ball to land and stop, on a ledge thats about 7 feet up and about 4 inches across, I can basically throw the ball up there, it will land, and stop (almost as if it gets stuck with velcro or something) and it will not fall off. The trick is to throw it just enough so that when its at the top of its arc, or just coming down, is when it'll land on the ledge.
Wow, $2600. I'm 20 years old and have saved up more than that. America truly is a third world country.
Can't trust carnies man. My brother and I went to a carnival when we were 15, obviously easy targets for carnies to go 'lol do this for $7, easy as shit' My brother won at a really dodgy ringtoss (The pegs were pyramids, and just barely fit at the bottom), entitled to win a Nintendo DS, suddenly 'Lol just kidding, the ring has to lie flat at the base to win' Everything is rigged to fuck. Overly bouncy balls, cans full of lead, and so on. Fuck, go look at the inside of those old arcade claw machines. The claw is powered by a small air pump, and you can open and close a hole on the pipes to weaken the suction, and thus the grip.

Only in Manchester. can't wait to se the headline "Salisbury man found dead after brawl with deer"
Am I really the only one who was immediately reminded of this?

It isn't that the ends are polished, I mean, it's a grabber. Who cares if the ends are polished (it's metal anyway) when the act of picking something up uses the grabbing part of the action. The real reason why those machines don't let you win is because in the claw there is a variable set screw. This allows them to change FORCE of the grabbing action. So imagine putting your hand around a cup, but not allowing yourself to squeeze at all. No matter how grippy or unpolished your hand is, you aren't going to pick up that cup. Now imagine you do the same thing, but you are allowed to squeeze as hard as you want. You are going to get that cup. Same thing with the claw. If they want to make more money, they make the claw weaker. If they want you to win, they could make that claw pick up a concrete brick if they wanted to.

The guys at College Humor decided to "buy" this guy's banana (for the $2,600 he "lost") AND give him a Kinect. Pretty bro thing to do, even if he doesn't exactly deserve it
2600$ is hardly a life savings. A year ago i wouldn't think of $2600 being a lot, but now that i live on my own it is a lot of money. Every penny was well spent though :v:.
I remember I played this rifle game at a carnival where you shoot something over, and when the attendant wasn't looking I reached over and pushed it over. Then I told her I knocked it over and she looked very surprised, and then said I had to knock it over 3 times in a row (you don't get that many shots) and I didn't win anything Some rigged bullshit they pull. Granted I cheated but it wasn't possible to actually win, even if you did cheat.
still not as bad as florida man
I think this guy is selling it on ebay. lol http://www.ebay.com/itm/Giant-Stuffed-Banana-with-Dreadlocks-/171033487051?pt=Stuffed_Animals_US&hash=item27d263e6cb
How does one rig a bucket?
Roud out the bottom. The basketball game they have is rigged because the hoops aren't at regulation height, the hoops are to small, and trying to do a basketball throw would be impossible due to the ceiling of the booth.
30 years old, not some oldie
That's absolutely nothing for even like a mid 20 year old. [editline]6th May 2013[/editline]
The guys at College Humor decided to "buy" this guy's banana (for the $2,600 he "lost") AND give him a Kinect. Even then, I bet the guy is going to blow it on something for feeling so lucky to get his money back. Those kind of people don't change their habits.
