When you think of someone like Bill Gates who's made the realisation there's more to life than money (and then proceeds to help others with it) it's scary to think there's people like these who have limitless already and would continue to fuck up the world just to have more.

But what can be done to combat this? I honestly hope there IS something that can be done to combat this, though I suspect that what can be done is "outside of the rules", possibly involving swords. If the only way to fight it is with actual fighting, that'd be concerning, since ideally we'd want to find the non-violent alternative because we all know that the soul is annihilated upon death, meaning that death and killing is not ideal in the slightest.

You're not going to be able to stop it, at all, even if you kill whoever is in control then there's no way to stop it because they'll just rebuild and do it again. In my opinion there should basically be a Praetorian Guard and their sole purpose should be to watch out for stuff like this and stop it by any means necessary.

I took his post as a comment on unregulated and overbloated capitalism that hurts the lowest denominator (the consumer). Capitalism can't go away, but pure capitalism is bad, and the Nordic System is the best current model.

Also, concerning the whole "killing whoever's in control won't stop it" thing, I think that's half-right. Kill the head honcho and someone'll take his/her place, that makes sense. But in that case, if the person in charge keeps on doing the same shit as their predecessor, kill the new guy. Or alternatively, drive them to the razor's edge of insanity; not the paranoid kind that causes them to beef up security and never leave the house, but the kind that annihilates their sensibilities, causing them to forget their duty and gibber timidly in the corner, chewing at their own flesh, banging their head into the walls until they lose consciousness, the kind of stuff that would commit them to an asylum. Doing so would require knowing the person, their deepest fears, the things that they simply cannot deal with. Another alternative would be to eliminate the chain of command as well as the head honcho, leaving no-one to take up the "throne". Sure there'd probably be a few widows here and there, but that shit happens all the time in warzones; if the corporate world actually turns into a warzone beset upon by some sort of Praetorian Inquisition, then yes there would be death. So yeah, a Praetorian Guard dedicated to stomping out "Illuminatis" and preventing them from forming and gaining power would probably be one of the better solutions, though I doubt the UN would finance such a thing since they're probably in the pockets of those guys, so if a Praetorian Inquisition ever formed they'd probably be "unofficial" and labelled as terrorists. When you think of this it really makes you wonder about the huge events of the past 100 years. What were the real reasons for the World Wars? Why did the Holocaust happen? Why were the nuclear bombs dropped on Japan? It's horrifying.
