Are you retarded or what?
In this day and age that sort of shit is exactly what make extremists get angry, south park didnt have to censor the episode, they did it to make a statement...
What? Did you even watch the episode? It was all about the boys going to FOX headquarters to convince the CEO's not to censor an episode of Family Guy showing Mohammed. They were afraid of everything else being censored once other religions start claiming equality to muslims. In the scene where Mohammed was going to appear the screen goes black saying, "Comedy Central wouldn't allow us to show this clip. In this scene Mohammed hands Peter a salmon helmet."
It's that if one person does it, yes, they can threaten them. But if everyone does it, they lack the power and reasources and eventually will have to give up.
It's like fear and opression becomme nothing but empty ramblings or a few madmen with a handful of guns. They lack the power to kill the entire world.
But nothing is to be achieved from this. They will not give up because some guys on the internet drew pictures of their prophet.
They will just become angrier than they already were and I see more troubles than good in this.

Censor yourself because an old child fucker in a cave will get angry with you.

But that's the thing, they can't blame anyone, thus rendering them weaker. Or, do you honestly think they can track anyone? They live in rural stoneboxes since if they live someplace else, the rangers finds them. Point is to bring them to a point where they feel powerless.
You seem abit pessimistic, but belive me, it works in the long run.

Muslim extremists don't get to decide what's okay to draw and what's not just because they have guns.
I do not wish to depict Muhammad in an disrespectful way, or disrespect Islam in general, I merely want to stand up for freedom of speech and support cultural/religious relativism.
That's what I added to my picture. Drawing him in a disrespectful way isn't the right thing to do either.

well I honestly don't think that if everyone does this, they'll go like 'shit, everyone's doing it now, we can't do anything!'
I don't know how popular this event is now, but if it is very popular, I think those guys will see the rest of the world as a bigger threat for Islam and they may cause even more trouble. And the trouble they will cause will be 'a reaction'.
Really, I don't see why people think that insulting those guys all together is a good idea.
Plus the normal muslims also get offended by this and I can see protests in the future if this 'special day' becomes more popular.
It's now an 'insult-islam day'.

Islam does and those guys follow and protect their religion at all costs, even if that means blowing your self up or shooting groups of people down.
my point is that they will react to this if it becomes 'too' popular and those guy's reactions are usually deadly for too many people.

The point of this whole thing isn't really to insult Islam, but to protest the fact that anybody else is fair game for jokes or insults, but all you have to do is draw a picture and then all of the sudden people are rioting in the streets demanding that you be beheaded for blaspheming against a religion that YOU DON'T EVEN FOLLOW!!!

First off, regular muslims does not get offended, I know several, they pretty much go "as if I'd give a flying fuck...", it's mainly conservatives who gets mad, and that's true in Christianity aswell, even though most conservatives are opressive jerks who wants everything they dislike prohibited for everyone else aswell.
Point is, being insulted is selective, everyone should be allowed to express their opinion, reguardless of fanatics or not. It does do good because they can't do anything besides wallowing in their rage, they've pretty much sunken to the bottom and that's where they are, and this is a big blow on their morale, each year this will grow greater and greater, and eventually, the terrorists will have so low morale, so that they give up. It's simple, thus why it's a yearly event.

Well yeah the point of this thing is to stand up for freedom of speech and cultural/religious relativism.
So the point isn't to insult or disrespect people.
Islam does and those guys follow and protect their religion at all costs, even if that means blowing your self up or shooting groups of people down.
So essentially you're saying that Islam gets to choose whatever the rest of the world is allowed to do, say and think? And we have to sit here and take it out of fear?
That is exactly what the terrorists want. They want you to fear them.

Err, that prophet is one of the most important things for muslims. Drawing him is a great insult towards the belief and believers. True, some people don't give a shit, but I'm sure most of the muslims do care.
The hate towards muslims, or the terrorists, is already very great, they still get raped by the american soldiers yet their morale is still enough to fight. Their morale will not go down because of people drawing the prophet, it will make their fight against the thing they believe is right, even worse.
As I said before, those guys blow themselves up if they want to, I don't think that morale will go down to a point that they will not fight.

of course that's not the point, but while people are trying to make a point to the terrorists, they do not realize that they also insult/disrespect the other people

err I don't think insulting them is the solution then. What if you leave them alone, it will stop massive protests and might even stop threats.
What happened after that guy in denmark made that picture of the prophet, massive protests occured and terrorist groups made death threats. or you could say a huge shit storm began.
Now imagine that guy did not draw that picture. What would've happened? nothing at all.
what the hell is wrong with you guys
are you guys realizing that this will make people the extremists angrier, it's not like they will suddenly accept it.
the whole point of this is to insult a group of people and no one will gain anything
Who gives a fuck, the extremists are crazy. Nothing will change their mindset. If it makes them angrier who cares. Let em get angry. Why should we try to be nice to people that blow up buildings filled with innocent people; both their own and ours. Cut off peoples heads just because they are from a nation they hate. Just try to just generally cause terror in any way they can.
-They cannot be reasoned with.
-They don't like us.
-They never will.
-Until we are all dead.
-Therefore, screw em!

what do you mean, since when was anyone nice to terrorists, are you sure you are not confusing the words 'muslim' and 'terrorist'.
And you said it, the terrorists are capable of blowing them selves up and they'll do it for the smallest things.
I am Muslim and I have to honestly say this thread and the FB group irks me a bit. I understand that you guys want to exercise your right to freedom of speech, but realize that defaming the prophet Muhammad is possibly the worst thing you can do.
That and this draw Muhammad day, just seems like an excuse for bigots to hate and insult us. Seriously why do you think the group creator doesn't want involvement anymore? I'll tell you why, because she wanted her group to be about protest, not hate. (Something pretty obvious when the majority of group members are a bunch of bigoted rednecks.)

Your post says Extremists. I was talking about the Extremists. More specifically the ones that act on their fucked up views. You were trying to say we shouldn't do this because it will upset them(extremists). Also not drawing Muhammad or whatever would be to try to keep the peace... to try to be NICE. C'mon keep trying to turn my statements into racist remarks. I dare you. Extremist's can't be dealt with no matter what view, race, religion, background. They are all nuts.

Remember it is to your religion and only your religion. To everyone else drawing Muhammad doesn't mean anything. Non Muslims don't have to abide by your religions rules.

that's a dumb thing to say, you're saying that if you don't draw muhammad, you are being (or trying to be) nice.
that's like saying 'because I don't draw jesus with a cross in his ass, I'm being nice to him and the religion'.
You said "Why should we try to be nice to people that blow up buildings filled with innocent people"
What I said is that no one is trying to be nice to terrorists and that you will not look like you're acting nice if you don't draw muhammad. Since no one is trying to be nice to terrorists, I supposed you might have confused 'muslim' with 'terrorist' as there are many people who do try to be nice to muslims.
I was also saying that those images don't only insult the extremists, but also the 'normal' muslim.
I do not change reactions into 'racist remarks'. Hell, this is not even about racism.
And if extremists can't be dealt with, what is the point of the insulting images? According to what you said (and also what I think), those images will not stop those guys anyway.

True, but that does not change the fact that muslims do get insulted by this and that it is disrespectful. Because they're not muslim, it does not mean they should make fun of the religion.
Suddenly; carbombs, everywhere!

My point is who cares. Pictures or no pictures. Who cares. It offends people, who cares. There's this thing you can do instead of getting offended which is sit back and laugh at it. Everyone gets offended by different things, why should this 1 thing be some exception.

Well my whole point is that it insults too many people while the insult is actually aimed on one group.
But I suppose we can not agree with eachother then.

So whens my stoning?
BrQ, they are impeding on the ability to freely express oneself. It's not as much of a mocking but more about taking a stand. Who cares if it is insulting, the muslims already broke their own rule about depicting muhammad themselves by describing him in text.
This is the reason I drew muhammad.

So, there.
