What if everyone drew a black guy stealing bikes because a black guy once beat some one up for drawing stereotypes of blacks. Or imagine that beating up part had happened much more often in the past, then everyone started drawing them with shitfaces and as thieves, it would be racist and it would insult the black race, would it not? afaik you could be fined on such acts, but when everyone insults islam by making shit drawings of their prophet, it'd suddenly just be freedom of speech, no?
Even if that did not make much sense, the point I'm trying to raise is that this is indeed just an act to insult and has little to do with freedom of speech.

People don't seem to realize that this day isn't meant as "Draw Muhammad being buttfucked day", but "Draw Muhammad period day". We respect freedom of speech. This includes South Park ( a comedy series) being able to broadcast whatever they want. Comedy's primary goal is to make people laugh, not to incite hatred & disrespect.

Both are wrong, but neither deserve death threats. This is just making a point to show that we still have some freedom of speech. Part of Freedom of Speech is accepting that there will be bigotry, and that that's an okay price to pay. However, saying that those people should be silenced, or shouldn't voice their ideas out of fear? Then you don't have freedom of speech anymore.

BrQ, the difference in the thing you mentioned with the black guy and the bicycles, is that the man drawing this picture will be fined, not threatened for his life. Once life threats will stop regarding this issue we won't have a reason to draw Mohammed, and I think this will happen soon as the extremists can either threat everyone and obviously fail, or announce that they won't threaten anyone anymore and thus everyone will be able to draw Mohammed without fearing for their life, even public figures.
