The music from the [sp]docking[/sp] scene made the entire thing for me.

Overall though, I think I preferred the OST in The Imitation Game.(even though it didn't deserve to win for anything else)
I feel like the only reason Michael Keaton didn't win best actor is because Birdman was already winning so many awards. Kinda sucks, I strongly feel that Michael deserved the Award more than Eddie Redmayne.
why would you put the major male winners in the headline and not the female ones?
Regarding the Lego/Big Hero 6 debate, is Best Animated Film meant to be a technical award for the film with the most impressive animation and technology, or an award for the best film overall that was made using animation? I always thought it was the latter
"Best Animated Film" is actually "Whatever Film Disney or Pixar Made." They don't watch the others.

I'm not gonna lie and tell you I saw Birdman but Redmayne's performance was unbelievably good.
Like I know "crippling disability pic" has become an oscar-bait stereotype but Eddie really knocked it out of the park like I literally forgot I was watching an actor halfway through the movie
Feel like Budapest deserved it.
12 years ago, if you were to tell me that the guy who plays J Jonah Jameson would win an Oscar in the future (and be in a Valve game), I would have been really skeptical.
He should've won an Oscar for playing J. Jonah Jameson.

I'd agree. I thought that soundtrack was great and those Organs really made it stand out. Some of it even reminded me of Castlevania at times.
birdman was fucking amazing. amazing usage of a pseudo-long take camera.
As much criticism as the Oscars get, I still think it's miles ahead of the Grammys in honoring the best of the year.
This is because there are more quantifiable 'check boxes' in regards to what makes a movie "better than others".
Music is almost a purely subjective thing and the Grammy's is just a joke event run by an industry that doesn't really give a shit about music.

WINNER: American Sniper – Alan Robert Murray, Bub Asman
And not Godzilla, what the fuck
Honestly bear with me here. If you saw Godzilla in theatres, or have a good sound system on your TV, you'd be blown away by the amount of sound this movie puts out. The roars, stomps, crashing of buildings and the iconic bellow of one of the biggest movie characters of all time feels fucking real.
But no, 'muh patrtiosm'

not if you had watched Oz.

All I could think about when he was going up. Fuck, Schillinger won an Oscar.
What is Boyhood and why does everyone with a bit of usable brainpower hate it? I don't keep up with movies and I keep seeing everyone cheer for Birdman and spitting in Boyhood's face.
I know red letter media pretty much have had a fun joy taking the shit out of it.

and the director himself said "not much" happens throughout the movie
