The Takeaway is TIME magazine is firmly in SJW territory, and not the "ironic internet label" kind. Their electronic entertainment editor is a racist progressive, their managing editor came from PBS and before that a hyper liberal newspaper.
Racist progressive sjw? Did you actually stop to read what you posted?
I wouldn't give him that much credit. His father, who is a known Islamic activist (even running for office in Sudan), probably arranged this whole show. He's the one who's been playing these supine fucks like a damn fiddle.
You try to attach some negative connotation to "Islamic activist". There is nothing wrong with being a Muslim and nothing wrong with being a political activist, so why would there be anything wrong with him being an Islamic activist?
He political platform was opposing the genocidal president to, and i quote,
re-establish good connections with America
Why would there be anything wrong with that?
He might have helped capitalise on the reaction to the arrest but to think he would
1) need to know the clock would create that reaction
2) need to know his son wouldnt get shot
3) need to know his son wouldnt be tried for terrorism outright
4) need to know his sons story would go viral
5) need to know his son would be receive positive acclaim from most of the important people who commented on it
People just butthurt imo
This kid will forever be an indicator on how far sensationalism can go.

better for the sensationalism and him being showered with gifts and (arguably undeserved) privilege than having no future prospects because "expelled for bomb threat"
Haha what? Is this the Onion?
This is why science is dying.

I did not mean to exclude the bomb threat part when I said sensationalism. He never should have been reprimanded in the first place.
Sometimes i wonder if the bar has dropped or it was just the way they handle the situation? because taking part a clock from the 1980's is hardly what i'd call creative. I think its just the way the dispatcher and the school handle the entire thing.
Something here looks fishy. Like there is an ulterior motive.
Seems like what could have been done was a great big apology letter from the president and a interview and that'd be all. This is blown wayyy out of proportion.
Didn't he keep showing the clock to people even when his science teacher told him to put it away?
Why is this kid getting so many handouts and shit? He pulled apart a fucking clock and put it back together. Big deal.

Because he just so happens to be muslim,If this was anyone else they wouldn't get the publicity he got.

Yeah I guess, but I mean he basically did nothing and was falsely accused of something. That made him earn free trips to meet the president, and go to Google and Facebook? That's stupid.
My whole issue with the situation is, why does it seem that only anonymous persons on the internet are the ones recognizing the fraudulent nature of his situation? How do the people at these prestigious universities or the leaders of fortune 500 companies not read past the presented nature of the situation? It seems ironic that this kid is being praised for "thinking for himself" and being unique by those who appear to not be thinking for themselves; the people who one would think would read past the face value of the situation.

They know it damn well, but it's more profitable to keep the charade up.
Sadly the last big person to call him out is Bill Maher.
Not someone I normally look towards for enlightenment.

Did you actually bother to do any research?
Wait.... What exactly did he do to get that education in Qatar and now this?...
And yet the kid that got expelled because the teacher said he ate his toast into the shape of a gun is no where to be found on the list.
what a load of crock
People have exaggerated the whole pop-tart gun thing. It was really about the kid causing a disruption in the class and having a history of disruptions.

Ahmed doesn't have a clean school record either, but it's more of a case about schools being unreasonably strict in general.

No, she hates black and brown people in particular.
Why is this kid getting so many handouts and shit? He pulled apart a fucking clock and put it back together. Big deal.
He put it back together in a suitcase so it looks like a bomb.
But it's racist saying that the clock looks like a bomb so it's just a very creative clock.
