I just put on a fucking mask, switched to glasses (because there's no option to take off your mask otherwise) and now I'm fucking bald Rockstar what the fuck
This is what annoys me. I looked at Rockstars support twitter account and so many people are cursing at them and stuff saying shit like this shouldn't be happening.. They are so dumb, but hey, general public.
Facepunch wasn't this kind when SimCity came out.
I can't even fucking start races Rockstar how is this so fucking terrible
The only thing you should apologize for is the fact that I still have to install the damn thing even though I don't have Xbox Live or an internet connection that can withstand it.
I can't even fucking start races Rockstar how is this so fucking terrible
I dunno man, you try handling 15million people trying to play your game at one time.
The only thing you should apologize for is the fact that I still have to install the damn thing even though I don't have Xbox Live or an internet connection that can withstand it.
they should apologize for the fact that the online is a fucking horrible unplayable glitchy untested mess even when the servers aren't overloaded.
Facepunch wasn't this kind when SimCity came out.
That's because multiplayer kinda has a fucking reason to require always online.
1) 15 million people aren't trying to connect to Online 2) The way WoW handles networking is totally and completely different from the way Rockstar handles theirs. These comparisons are pointless
It would be nice to hear where people are getting the 15 million from. I haven't seen a single proper source, 15 million sounds very unlikely. Also yeah, the actual networking part is still regular P2P. Having to handle all the networking and NPCs on the server (MMO) is much more demanding than what Rockstar is doing.
they should have done what they did with Valve did with Dota's release, release the game for players in waves at random intervals. to keep the servers slowly filling up.
they should apologize for the fact that the online is a fucking horrible unplayable glitchy untested mess even when the servers aren't overloaded.
With a game this massive and insanely popular I kind of expected the online portion to have problems at launch. I mean it made $1,000,000,000 in the first three days. If that doesn't spell out connectivity issues on launch then I don't know what does.
I don't see why people are getting so upset about it. Anyone with a half a brain could have told you that the amount of traffic their servers would get most likely would cause service outages and other issues.
Rockstar even warned people that even though they were buying a lot of servers, they still might not be able to keep up with the load.
Had way too many experiences, pretty much all of them with F2P games, where connection issues, latency and bugs were pretty much handled by someone with their fingers in their ears chanting "LALALALALALALA IT'S YOUR FAULT!! LALALALALALA". So anytime a game company admits fault, apologizes and at least tries to rectify the situation gets points from me, even if I don't have the game in question.
What Rockstar needs to focus on after this is getting these menu's and stat screens out of the way faster so we can spend more time playing GTA, and less time playing with our dicks
they should apologize for the fact that the online is a fucking horrible unplayable glitchy untested mess even when the servers aren't overloaded.
They already did, calm down dude.
What Rockstar needs to focus on after this is getting these menu's and stat screens out of the way faster so we can spend more time playing GTA, and less time playing with our dicks
This is my one real complain. WHO GIVES A FUCK about voting at the goddamn scoreboard? Why does the game decide to wait a fucking hour after the match ends until everyone has decided if they will give it a thumbs up or thumbs down? What purpose does this serve at all other than to take an eternity for the game to progress?
They already did, calm down dude.
My game is still constantly freezing, so no, they didn't
My game is still constantly freezing, so no, they didn't
You said they should apologize for the game not being up to par on launch, which they did... You did not say that they should fix it which is what they're working on.
the problem isnt hardly being able to connect, its the awful loading times, lack of basic functions when in lobby and in game and a general bad layout for everything. the host of a game can't even kick another player from the game
As much as I want to like Rockstar still, my initial character (that I managed to get online with) is now gone for no particular reason and simply doesn't allow me and my friend to play online together as well as weird ass glitches consistently.

They can. Confirm settings, View player info, highlight and kick.
I fucking hate the fact I can't just globally turn voice chat off. Why do I need to do it individually for each player? Why is there just not a setting, it's not that hard jesus.

There's also an option where you mute everyone but your friends or crew members.
-snip-
As long as they fix the bugs and port to pc, I'd value that more than the quality of the game! (Which is saying something for modern games...)
w-where's my pc release? :(
When and if they release on PC they should put modding tools in it for the single player, and allow private servers for multiplayer mods if they choose to allow modding. That'd be the shit. BUT! from what I've played online its a pretty neat experience you don't start making the real money until you hit like level 10 and do lester's missions. Oh one time this dude kept attempting to kill me and I just killed him over and over but I noticed he used the same car which obviously meant that was his vehicle and had purchased the insurance and everything for it.. Ahaha! After getting fed up with him attempting to kill me while I robbed stores I waited for him to come back out to kill me.. Sure enough he did! I shot gunned him after he fired at me with his pistol and I just took his car, hoping he left it unlocked for everyone, (which he did) and I drove it into a lake so that he would have to play the insurance. I guess that counts as bad sportsmanship. D: SO! The second guy that tried to kill me in free roam I took his car smashed it up REAL badly bending the wheels in and I shot out the tires.
They shouldn't have to apologize. Anyone with half a brain should have expected issues with the launch.
They shouldn't have to apologize. Anyone with half a brain should have expected issues with the launch.
I expected launch day issues, not deleted characters 6 days after release.
I expected launch day issues, not deleted characters 6 days after release.
Still an issue stemming from the launch and as much as everyone seems to forget, this stuff isn't simple to fix. I have some friends that join me for Online and have last progress, I myself have even lost a character but it happens. If it continues to happen after a month, that's a different story.
What's with the amount of shit in the online besides the the fact that there are connectivity issues? Popping in and out of multiplayer games is way too slow, and there is just so much crap you have to go through before a match starts, after it ends, etc. It's faster to drop out of a match and join a new one, then to wait till a new round begins.
