• War Z Devs Caught Lying in Ban Appeals

I suppose there has been one good thing to come of this. A textbook example of how not to sell/market/develop a video game.
i only feel pity for them. i WANT their game to be good, it's at least slightly entertaining, but holy shit do they not know how to do the simplest of things. it's just embarrassing to watch them do this shit to themselves. i don't feel they're scammers or people with malicious intent, they just.. have no fucking clue how to manage their game or community. for fuck sakes they've been saying they will optimize the game and we just got an update (with no patch notes) that added some shitty motion blur and there's no discernible way to turn it off they're just so fucking stupid it hurts these design decisions are so SIMPLE in concept rghdrgdfgkjsdfg'a
it promised so much then gave us nothing (except for a kick in the nads)
WarZ is starting to look like Trespasser. False advertising, developer disputes, it's got it all.
admit it, WarZ is a big piece of turd
I fully expect that sergay or whatever his name is will be charged with fraud and wind up in jail
Somebody without a War Z account, send an email and see if you get the ban response along with a screenshot of the convo, let's check to see if this is legit before we send in the lynch mob.
I will shortly, can't at this exact moment
It keeps happening.
Somebody without a War Z account, send an email and see if you get the ban response along with a screenshot of the convo, let's check to see if this is legit before we send in the lynch mob.
Email send, waiting on response.
WarZ is starting to look like Trespasser. False advertising, developer disputes, it's got it all.
Except Trespasser was actually ambitious and made by people that wanted to make a revolutionary game, it just fell short because it was overambitious and essentially ran out of time for development. This is a game made by a greedy, lying shithead to quickly capitalize on another developer's success. WarZ had no ambition besides "making a quick buck" from the very beginning.
How these guys haven't gotten sued in a lawsuit yet is beyond me.
found this in that thread

It had some features that were pretty fantastic for its time.
It's embarrassing to say I supported this game from the beginning.
I like the game. But damn...
And to think that this game would've been downright amazing. The devs completely ruined it all and blew away most of their potential customers.
It's embarrassing to say I supported this game from the beginning.
I feel sorry for you. I don't understand how people could look at this game and say "yup, this seems like a reasonable game to support"
This game is such a trainwreck. Valve seriously needs to step up their entry barriers so stuff like this doesn't fly beneath the radar for a couple of days. At least stuff like Revelations 2012 should now be kept off by Greenlight (in theory).
I read a bit of this game's source code and part of their antihack is sending screenshots to the server every game.
How could you not get excited for this? This was in the subreddit on the frontpage, I guess it's a response to the thread. http://www.reddit.com/r/TheWarZ/comments/168q5d/warz_response_to_a_ban_appeal/
What I meant by what I said was that in my case (two months ago) I got the thread appealed after 2 weeks of being banned. This is not two months ago. Two months ago people wernt banned from the Anti-Cheat engine, they were banned from other players accusing them with ify proof. Like people would post an image of a person in one spot, count 3 seconds later, and then have a picture of him ahead of that spot. Then say, well, normally, I person would take 4 seconds to get to that spot, so he must be hacking. Now they have a great anti-cheat engine that works very well. It blocks basically every hack I have tried. Though I havent tried hard to find one that works, ive tried two that you pay for which didnt work. So what im getting at is, the people who are caught hacking in game ARE HACKING. The chances are slim to none that they were banned by mistake. And the people who are hacking have taken a large amount of time just to find a hacking tool that works in game, just for the sole purpose of cheating. So if you were an admin and you found that a player was hacking, after clearly spending a large amount of time to find a hack that works, would you ever unban them? I myself am an admin in my clan's TF2, CSGO, and CSS division, and if you get caught aimbotting, scripting, etc. You stay banned.

Just because I don't have anything to hide doesn't change that it's a massive breach of privacy.

The "Official" response
This is a fake post and it is not happening. I just searched our entire database (just to make sure) for "Your ban appeal has been denied" and this was never found, as our reps do not use this phrase.

Are you an idiot Who the fuck gets banned for using scripts in TF2, really?
People who play on lame servers
Are you an idiot Who the fuck gets banned for using scripts in TF2, really?
Did I say TF2 only? Or can you not read 3 words past that? Are you an idiot? Because Im pretty sure you are just trying to insult me for trying to defend a game I like and you dont. Edit: Oh and its BHOP scripting. As in strafing while jumping so that you gain speed and can fly across the map. Its possible to BHOP without a script, but scripting makes it so it does it for you, giving you an advantage over other players. And im pretty sure you cant BHOP script in TF2.
Did I say TF2 only? Or can you not read 3 words past that? Are you an idiot? Because Im pretty sure you are just trying to insult me for trying to defend a game I like and you dont.
He didn't say TF2 only though, he just said TF2.
The "Official" response
I read that and then read whom it was posted by. Kewk. At this point after what all he's done, he has just as much validity in his remarks as the random user who first created the thread there. I'm not taking sides, I'm just merely making an observation.
