I use Hotmail for Windows Live Messenger and GMail for everything else.

That already happened before. And yes, that means hacked. They could have got passwords even from which were registered but never used. It's highly unlikely that somebody could fish out 10000 emails, and only from people with names starting with A and B. It was obviously part of database leak.
