I don't know what's worse, movies based off of an internet meme or the fact that they're calling it Grumpy Cat.
Well there's only 2 ways this can end: 1- it's gonna bomb harder than a fat guy at a swimming pool, because by the time the movie is finished no one wil remember that one grumpy cat I once saw. 2- It's gonna make a shit ton of money because it's that one grumpy cat I once saw ON THE INTERNET.
wait there making a movie on a meme.?
NO

Because that same idea process comes to mind whenever a new scary/date/epic movie is made. By the time they buy the ticket, it's already too late.
Grumpy cat will hate this film.
WHEN A GRUMPY CAT MOVES TO A HAPPY NEIGHBORHOOD, THINGS START TO GET WACKY!
God, even your title fits.
This is worse than when family guy made a chuck norris joke

I never found that cat funny
Good thing I dont have to watch it if I dont want to.
Movie industry must be in serious trouble if its relying on recycled humour to make a film.
So now they're making movies based on memes? Ugh... Whats next? The Jimmy Rustler?
Rustled Jimmies in the Mist
this will be the best thing to hit cinemas since the godfather can't wait
Oh boy! lets prepare for WACKY ADVENTURES STARRING GRUMPY CAT AND A BIG, HAPPY FAMILY IN A EXCRUCIATING MOVIE
Will film be directed in Lithuania?
Family comedy
...Which means it's a kids movie.
...Which means it's a kids movie.
Exactly. "Family" comedies haven't been for anyone except toddlers since the 80s. Maybe they never were. This is going to be directed to the same kind of people who went to the Garfield movie; tired parents who heard of it one time, and jittery kids who will have lunchboxes and backpacks with the protagonist's face on it. Not for angry white teenagers on the internet who're pissed because someone else is using their inside joke. [sp]Okay, maybe that last one didn't apply to the Garfield movie.[/sp]
Not for angry white teenagers on the internet who're pissed because someone else is using their inside joke.
Does it still count as an inside joke?
I don't think that people realized that this was a shitty meme that should've died after its first use.
This is getting a movie...what... How come facepunch never got a dancing rocket man movie?
A cat is paired up with the family dog! He's Grump and he's not so grump!
Despite the source... I refuse to believe this is happening. I reject this false reality, and instead substitute my own.
it was a cheap laugh at the beginning and now they're going to stretch it into a movie, this isn't going to work
A cat is paired up with the family dog! He's Grump and he's not so grump!
Let's be honest here. If Arin Hansen and Jon Jafari were hired to be the voice of those characters, and were given full reign onto what they said. I would watch the shit out of it.
This is getting a movie...what... How come facepunch never got a dancing rocket man movie?
It wasn't whored out on 9gag?
Internet, no, stop it, STOP LEAKING OUT TO MAKE SHITTY MEMES EVEN MORE FUCKING SHITTY.
Personally, I blame Facebook. Perfect site and excellent idea, but we underestimated the capacity for the average human to not do stupid shit when semi-anonymity is a factor.
Now I demand Garry's Mod: The Movie
it was a cheap laugh at the beginning and now they're going to stretch it into a movie, this isn't going to work
Back then memes belonged to the internet and stayed there. Now everybody tries to cash in on them.
