Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump hasn't been shy on the campaign trail about his Presbyterian faith.
When asked if he's ever sought God's forgiveness he said he drinks "his little wine" and has "his little cracker."
He's also professed his love for the Bible on many occasions, calling it "the greatest book of all time."
But when given the opportunity to share one or two of his favorite Bible verses, he was uncharacteristically mum.
"I wouldn't want to get into it. Because to me, that's very personal," he said. "The Bible means a lot to me, but I don't want to get into specifics."
As a result, the Twitterverse decided to do it for him. That's where #TrumpBible comes in.
Using popular Trump phrases, people are coming up with their own versions of the gospel according to Trump. And, they're having fun with it. #TrumpBible is still going strong at over 10,000 tweets and counting.
Jesus: Sit down. Nobody called on you. Go back to Jerusalem. #TrumpBible

Thanks for the gold, frankincense, and myrrh Wise Guys. Now go back to your own country. #TrumpBible
I can't believe religion still plays such a big part in american politics. It's ridiculous

It doesn't play a large part in American politics.
It plays a large part in the election process.

the election process plays a large part in american politics
thus religion plays a large part in american politics
The entirety of U.S. politics (Any democracy, really) is about staying popular for the next four years so you can repeat your popularity contest.
Trump doesn't actually have a chance of becoming president does he? Surely if god truly he existed he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen.
Trump doesn't actually have a chance of becoming president does he? Surely if god truly he existed he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen.
If god truly exists he lets kids starve in Africa, die of dozens of horrible diseases, he let Hitler do his shit and he allowed the live action Last Airbender movie to be made. If god exists he might just be cruel enough to want Trump to win.

nah
he's alienating large demographic voting blocs, most notably latinos. granted, their voting turnout has been poor in past elections, but he's getting them riled up enough to come out and vote against him

Hey at least god gave us freewill, and when i mean freewill i mean the same free will that allows us to both make white-lies and commit genocide.
Trump doesn't actually have a chance of becoming president does he? Surely if god truly he existed he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen.
Depends how many people has him as their "second pick."
Right now Trump is polling at around 20%-30% leaving 70%-80% of potential primary voters either having Trump as their secondary pick or in their "would never vote for."
So with that in mind there are several scenarios that could happen:
1. Trump wins early primaries but loses because others drop out giving someone else (Jeb, Rubio, Cruz, etc.) the win in later stages of the race.
2. Trump wins early primaries, and keeps the momentum going, gaining the nomination.
3. Trump loses early primaries but sticks in it being a pain in the ass to those remaining.
4. Trump loses early primaries and drops out.
5. Trump self-destructs and is out of the race before the primaries.
Then in the general election it could see a few more interesting outcomes:
1. Trump runs 3rd party screwing over the GOP, Dems win.
2. Trump runs 3rd party but doesn't get enough votes to effect anything, toss up.
3. Trump doesn't run 3rd party so election proceeds as normal, toss up.
4. Trump wins nomination but scares away moderates with insane views, Dems win.
5. Trump wins nomination and uses populist tactics to to win moderate votes, Trump wins.

That's why he is winning the Hispanic vote. Right? I'm Latino and I'm voting for him.

This sort of makes sense. If you were a Hispanic and wouldn't vote for Trump because of his immigration views, why would you vote for ANY Republican?
I wish my future president didn't have such ugly hair.
I don't see why Hispanics should be offended by Trump anyways. The only ones that should be voting are the ones that immigrated here legally, and you obviously understand the difficulty and merits of such a long and difficult process if you bothered to go through it.
I'm sure many native Mexicans who went through that process are very anti-illegal immigration and the rest probably don't care because it has nothing to do with them.
On the other hand someone who immigrated legally might have friends back home that weren't able to immigrate, or might have more sympathy for people living in shitty conditions in Mexico that can't afford the money or time it takes to immigrate. Most Republicans who are for cracking down on illegal immigrants are also against making the immigration process easier, faster or less expensive.

It is pretty silly that religion is such a consideration for POTUS, don't be naive. The fact that someone isn't a Protestant is a major consideration when people vote is stupid.

um no nobody would have crossed your mind if you said religion in politics is retarded at any point in time
any sane person would agree
Fox News is pushing trump so hard. Oh god save us.
Fox News is pushing trump so hard. Oh god save us.
What. From what I've seen they're pushing against him.
It doesn't play a large part in American politics.

An entire political party, half of our politics, bases basically their entire platform around religion. Yeah, religion doesn't play a large part my ass.
Trump doesn't actually have a chance of becoming president does he? Surely if god truly he existed he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen.
The issue for the GOP right now is he's flat-out said he'll run as a self-funded independent if he isn't given the presidential nomination.
Which means if they don't pick him, they lose, because he steals a fair percentage of the Republican vote. It's another Ross Perot situation. He splits, like he's said he will, and there's zero chance the GOP can swing a victory. If they pick him, though, they're still boned, because he's alienated a lot of the voting populace.
Trump basically single-handedly guaranteed a Democratic victory for 2016. The chances of Trump winning a GOP-backed campaign are very low, and the chances of the GOP winning when they have to run against an independent Trump are even lower.
An entire political party, half of our politics, bases basically their entire platform around religion. Yeah, religion doesn't play a large part my ass.
Their "entire" platform does not revolve around religion.
While the Republicans are usually the ones to attract evangelicals to their voting bloc, they are not a religious party in of itself. I would argue that their "entire platform" is more focused on capitalism and corporatism than religion, with the latter being solely a means to an end to attract voters.

This pretty much. Religion has been a major part of human culture for thousands of years, and will continue to be such even if Christianity dies out. So of fucking course the pious of this nation are going to wonder the religious stance of their next leader, from moderate simple christans to extremeist right wing bible belters.
That said I'm surprised the cat's got Trump's toungue on Religion, you think a person like Trump would be all for Jebus. Maybe he wants to approach the situation carefully? Or try not to piss off another group like he's been doing all around the place since announcing his bid for Presidency?

When has a single president rigged an election without getting caught?
We've been at this electing thing since the late 18th century.
Stranger things have happened, and I wouldn't put it past that brain-slug of a toupee to do something stupid.
When has a single president rigged an election without getting caught?

No president has single-handedly rigged an election, but there have been some questionable men put in office by some very questionable means throughout American history, especially in the 1800s. The only modern one I can really point out is the 2000 campaign.
Positions as public and prestigious as a presidency needs more than just one man bribing a few key people to win. These questionable wins were done through the work of an organized push - that half the time aren't even centralized to do it, just all them working toward their common interests.

Trump uneasy about offending a voter group? Unlikely.
Odds are Trump is touting the "I'm a devout Christian!" just for the sake of votes and when questioned on it further, pulls the "it's too personal to talk about" bullshit to hide the reality that he hasn't a fucking clue what he's talking about since he worships the All Mighty Dollar more than any other deity.
