THAT'S ANTI AMERICAN!" have you ever heard a democrat say "YOU THINK ABORTION SHOULD BE OUTLAWED?! FASCIST! THAT'S ANTI AMERICAN!"

I suppose the patriot act makes the government anti-american.
Go against what America stood for at it's creation; freedom, justice, equality and shit like that.
I wish that were true but the US was not founded on Equality at all. Considering we still used slave labor and women still couldn't vote. Our legal system is also so fucked up at this point it's ridiculous.
But that's the point, you're based off of freedom and justice and the persuit of happiness and supposedly you like ideas such as equality for all, yet you started as a colony based which quickly incorporated slave labor. Everything about your government is rediculous. [editline]01:23AM[/editline] How are filibusters even allowed?

They were for equality, compared to the time they were living, it was fairly equal. Just by todays standards, it's kinda outdated.

Violent protests are perfectly American.
Alabama resident here, if I may weigh in on this Southerners suck at Politicin' discussion. Southerners are misinformed about their government 99.9% of the time. They often believe that it is possible to have no taxes and still have a functioning government, complete with a DMV, Waste Management, and a working sewer system. That being said, most will vote for any candidate that promises to lower taxes and increase moral conservatism. In reality, taxes on the lower class will stay the same(And occasionally rise), while taxes on the upper class will drop exponentially. When public services drop to near inoperable levels, said candidate will use "big government" as a scapegoat, claiming that it is the fat cats up in DC's fault that there are seventy students per class and dropout rates are through the roof. That being said, I have less than a year until I am attending UC Berkeley and will never have to explain the South's backwards, right-winged actions again.

The whole point of the constitution is to ensure freedom and security for everybody so that they don't have to worry about some asshole who didn't get his way so he decided to set his car on fire

If you partake in a violent protest where several people get killed but you gain freedom, it's American.
Yeah, kill people and destroy private property, that'll get the public on your side.
Worked for the Russians. [editline]02:01AM[/editline] I jest.
Worked for the Russians. [editline]02:01AM[/editline] I jest.
Well the russians were pretty fucking pissed at that time, and were extremely poor, so they really had nothing left to lose

The American way is to make your voice heard and have the government serve the people. You could lobby for your entire life but it's hardly going to make a difference, start up a protest and get attention and things will go your way.
What did I miss?
