OK So some soldiers were extremely out of line and now they are being punished.
I love how you're just like "okay, what's the big deal?" and also how you act like this is a rare occurrence [editline]21st March 2011[/editline] "several innocent people were slaughtered by military members. oh, they're being punished for it now? okay no big deal guys. nothing to see here. just another isolated incident."
Every army inevitably consists the bottom of the barrel of Society. It just so happens the cameras are on the US.
Thanks for qualifying every serviceman and woman as a monster.
Exactly what I was thinking, It was a isolated incident the acts of a few people don't mean that the entire military is slaughtering civilians. Un til there is real proof that these soldiers were ordered by higher authorities to do this shit, I am saying they are isolated incidents.
this isn't an isolated incident, and the problem is this is meant to be the most sophisticated and professional military in the world and this kinda shit is still happening.
Thanks for qualifying every serviceman and woman as a monster.
Then I would have said, Every army is made out of the bottom of the barrel of Society.
this isn't an isolated incident, and the problem is this is meant to be the most sophisticated and professional military in the world and this kinda shit is still happening.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_war_casualties By various estimates up to 80% of people killed in the Iraq war alone were civilians. I think it's safe to say our military has an institutional problem with just not giving a fuck who we kill.
ITT: We are Americans trying to defend our generally retarded army.
ITT: We are Americans trying to defend our generally retarded army.
Why is it that so many idiots do idiotic things that make the whole country look bad?
life in prison please
and this is exactly what the usa is doing in libya right now.
You do realize there are no troops on the ground in Lybia, correct?
These people are obviously criminally insane. Whether or not it developed before or after they joined we can't say. What we can say is that it's a damn shame people like this can get into the military in the first place. War changes people and I'd hope they'd have frequent psych. exams to make sure people don't snap. Also making sure you don't enlist serial killers would be a nice thing to do too. Though you can't let nut jobs represent the whole military.

It keeps happening!
What do you want?
maybe he wants you to act a little less nonchalant when it comes to soldiers who are meant to be representing your country committing atrocities?
Wish people didn't start thinking "hurr durr, it's war i can kill anyone i want"

The brutalities of war happen in all shapes and sizes-- burned houses, destroyed infastructure, soldiers raping women.. It's all been done, and will continue to be done. Soldiers of all nationalities are guilty of this.
why do we have to war :saddowns:
Its easier to hate people then it is to hate real problems like cancer.
Impose harsher background checks and psychological evaluations? Dunno if that would help though...
The problem is that being in the military necessitates being alright with killing other people.
Face makes me think Duuur, a-huur de herp
Duuur, a-huur de herp
Wow. Really?
Wow. Really?
Faces mang.
Ever heard of the Stanford Prison Experiment? Everyone has a natural 'evil' about them, especially when they're given a position of power. Soldiers of any nation are given guns, the training to use the guns, and the mentality to kill other people. With that much power, you can expect them to do things that the average citizen wouldn't do; Besides shoot the enemy. The same principle applies to other things in our lives, such as governments, Activition, dominatrix, torturing people, etc.
and this is exactly what the usa is doing in libya right now.
yeah, those fucking americans keep keeling afghans in libya
you'd think intensive training would do something about that
No amount of training can prepare you for the consequences of war.
"alleged" These men are on trial now, these are US atrocities.
"alleged" These men are on trial now, these are US atrocities.
ever heard of innocent until proven guilty in a court of law? that's why they're using the term "alleged."
No amount of training can prepare you for the consequences of war.
why go to war if you're unprepared?
This is disgusting, and the people who try to justify this are pathetic.
