why would they pose with a dead body :/
This is what happens when you let southern USA folk into the military. "Issabel we eatin dinner tonight!"
These people are obviously criminally insane. Whether or not it developed before or after they joined we can't say. What we can say is that it's a damn shame people like this can get into the military in the first place. War changes people and I'd hope they'd have frequent psych. exams to make sure people don't snap. Also making sure you don't enlist serial killers would be a nice thing to do too. Though you can't let nut jobs represent the whole military.
Mental health services for US Service personnel are dreadfully lacking.
This is what happens when you let southern USA folk into the military.
i think its more a case of giving guns to school dropouts who are pretty much still kids or at least have the minds of children
Again, issue with "the small fraction outshadows the larger number".
Face makes me think [img_thumb]http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/3803/derpsoldier.png[/img_thumb] Duuur, a-huur de herp
Then I guess the guy on the left makes you think "Duuur, a-huur de herp" as well.
Mental health services for Americans are dreadfully lacking.
fixed
fixed
I think its mainly soldiers who have trouble finding facilities for their trauma. Almost any every day American could set up a appointment with local Ph.D and talk out more common emotional issues. Although it is expensive if thats the point you are trying to make.
This is what happens when you let southern USA folk into the military. "Issabel we eatin dinner tonight!"
One of them was from Alaska.
America: Get your bloody troops out of there before it's too late. >:I
fixed
I'm actually more curious now as to what you actually want, as Explosions has already asked:
What do you want?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_war_casualties By various estimates up to 80% of people killed in the Iraq war alone were civilians. I think it's safe to say our military has an institutional problem with just not giving a fuck who we kill.
It's fucking war, If your a civvy in a war area you have a 99% chance of dying end of story. When bullets fly don't be in the way.
"Some"? Stuff like this has been happening since the beginning of both wars. Abu Ghraib ring any bells? At what point does the "Isolated incident, doesn't represent the whole army" excuse start to wear thin? In ten years of continuous warfare this shit hasn't stopped happening.
(Just making up this number, roughly, but...) I would consider 10/1,477,896 active personnel to be "isolated incidents". Don't make assumptions based on a small group of fucked up individuals. [sp]The 10 is guessed. The total active personnel is not[/sp]
It's fucking war, If your a civvy in a war area you have a 99% chance of dying end of story. When bullets fly don't be in the way.
yeah how dare these civilians try to carry on a normal life. and don't be in the way? what the fuck kind of logic is that? these people get shot/bombed out of no where and never know it's coming.
You do realize there are no troops on the ground in Lybia, correct?
Obviously our jets are so superior they can pick of civilians and arrange their bodies for photo opportunities from miles away.
i think its more a case of giving guns to school dropouts who are pretty much still kids or at least have the minds of children
Yeah. The south. Also
fixed
What are you saying? That the army sucks or that our mental health services suck?
It's fucking war, If your a civvy in a war area you have a 99% chance of dying end of story. When bullets fly don't be in the way.
...Right, because they chose to have their homes invaded by US soldiers.
Ah. Such is life as a Soldier, Where any form of basic human sympathy is directly pulled out of you. I hope most of you realize that more than 90% of all Afghani's don't know why the US is there, and aren't even aware of 9/11. Most of the people getting killed are no different than your average American gun owner defending their family from an unknown enemy who forced their way into the country. There is NO reason why we should be still be in Afghanistan, let-alone overseas. It's a waste of money, and the only people benefiting from the war are the contractors.
What are you saying?
exactly what the sentence says mental health services in america are lacking. not just for soldiers but for everyone.
The guy in the second photo looks like my dad. :ohdear:
American soldiers are seeming more and more like general dicks.
War does shit to a person. If you don't know that maybe you should research what happens to a soldier after the war is over. More commonly they develop sometime of mental disorder.
War does shit to a person. If you don't know that maybe you should research what happens to a soldier after the war is over. More commonly they develop sometime of mental disorder.
didnt mention the part that most deployments are 15 months straight and the fact that they get shot at every single god damn day. i want you all to think about that for a minute, every day, bullets flying at you for the next 500+ days. the stress would be overbearing, this is how they cope with that stress. you cant be a depressed shithead about everything you do over there or else you will go insane.

not everyone has the balls to admit they have a problem and go to a doctor with those problems half the time. They'd have better luck taking those problems to a family member that can relate with them or their girlfriend / wife.
If this was just some guy who killed some people you'd see it on the local news and no one would care. But because they're soldiers everyone flips out.
how many isolated incidents can occur before they no longer count as isolated
Don't worry, I'll still think the US Army is awesome.
how many isolated incidents can occur before they no longer count as isolated
I'll say this again. 10/1,477,896 active personnel =/= widespread problem.
