It's China, children there are annoying rodents because there's so many of them. Add in the fact people want boys and not girls and you end up with this. Human life depreciates when you have 2 billion of them to take care of in your country.
There goes the 4th thread about this news in the last week.
I have been wondering why the girl laid there in the first place, does anybody know?
I suppose a little 3-year-old girl would just get back up and shrug off the fact that she was just hit by a truck, run over (twice) and left to slowly writhe in agony? She's lying on the ground because no-one bothered to make sure she wasn't there in the first place.

I've only seen a clip where the cars run over her and people walk by, not how she ended up in that situation.
I can possibly see how the mother could sue. If the child died, she could blame it that the ones who helped contributed to this. You cannot predict people, just because you help doesn't mean you will get rewarded with good things. Sometimes people are just assholes and will sue for anything they can to get monies. Atleast the drivers got arrested. How did he not see her the first time? Also hey where's that kid that's in love with China or something?

The girl was strolling around and a truck turned in, seemingly not noticing her. She was run over. It's all in the vid.
So sad
This is old news. There is a thread of this already. One explanation was offered as to why people ignored the child: There was a certain case in China which involved some dumb asshat injuring HERSELF, falling down from somewhere. One man was keen to help and rushed over but was "rewarded" with a court case against him with the woman claiming it was HIM who pushed her. The shit part is the woman supposedly won the case and the man had to pay compensation. Ever since, people in China have been MUCH less inclined to help out their fellow people for fear of getting caught up in any kind of legal battle/other troubles. So yeah, it's back to the "NOPE, I DIDN'T SEE THAT KID GETTING RUN OVER JUST NOW SO IT'S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH ME, RIGHT?" mentality...
I guess I'll let this one slide because China sucks ass, but I still think they should have done at least something to help, like call the police with a payphone (if there are any) and just be anonymous.
When the van stopped for a sec, then rolled forward, that killed me a little bit.
what horrible people to just walk by it.
Indeed, they should be gutted in public.
Indeed, they should be gutted in public.
No, you don't know what their reasons for not doing so were. People generally don't like getting involved in other peoples lives, by helping her they may have thought they'd end up in some sort of trouble.
Sigh, I hope this sparks some debate in China/Hong Kong about issues like this. Even thought it might have been hard to help the child at place, the people could at least have called 911 or simply stood there to warn other cars that there's a child on the road.

I can't imagine anyone among my friends or family ignoring this.

this is fucking terrible

He drives right into her, stops, then keeps going like nothing happened.
I hope they find the guy who ran her over. Stuff like this is just plain fucked up.
Wow, China has some radically serious social problems that I didn't think existed.
What about the dick driving the van? He drives right into her, stops, then keeps going like nothing happened.
Even if he was the true culprit, you try to identify his person... You can't see/tell shit from the footage and by the time anyone bothered even looking at the child, he was long gone. And as people later strolled by, with no idea as to WHO might have caused this, they chose to stay away and ignore as a safety measure for their own sakes.
Holy fuck, that one guy WALKED RIGHT FUCKING PAST HER, HIS FEET WERE NOT EVEN A METER AWAY FROM HER WHAT THE FUCK
Everyone getting a big dick of crying tears should calm down and blame China's justice system instead of people
As I am utterly desensetized to this news after three threads about it, I have to ask: why was a two-year old kid just wandering about in the city, alone? Was she homeless, or what?
He saying that he has lost faith in people in the beginning. So sad, because I agree with this. :(
Holy fuck this ruined my day
I don't care what people say about the people who passed by, that driver is what's wrong with this world. I honestly can't believe he stopped only to run over the kid with the rear wheels. What the fuck, man.
Faith lost in humanity
Faith lost in asians
If it had been a little boy they probably would have stopped. That's the sad truth about china.
what the fuck that driver is sick i hope they find him and give chinese capital punishment
She could have had a long life ahead of her, she could have grown up, experienced love, have a family die old and happy. But all of that was taken away from her because china sucks.
Yes, China sucks, all its population, its culture, history, architecture style, language, land, inventions, and everything about it just sucks because people walked by a dying child in one street in one Chinese city.
