I had no idea that the Loch Ness monster was proof of God...doesn't it kinda lean towards evolution?
I am a Christian, and I am seriously offended. I don't want to be associated with those fucktards all because I share the belief in the same God. Also, didn't Bible say to respect and tolerate anyone no matter what? Because I'm pretty sure it DID say that. Good job actually following the word you say you follow...
Same here, I'm one, and I find this shit insane.
America... Y u no intelligence? (User was banned for this post ("Meme reply" - Orkel))
Also, didn't Bible say to respect and tolerate anyone no matter what? Because I'm pretty sure it DID say that.
I don't rightly recall that. At the very least, it's lost among all the damnation, slavery and execution.
math is hard and i cant understand it therefore it is wrong!!!!!!!
Not only wrong, but satanic and EVIL
I had no idea that the Loch Ness monster was proof of God...doesn't it kinda lean towards evolution?
that depends on how you look at it. if the monster was actually from that period of time, it leans towards evolution. if it's not over a thousand years old, it's proof the creatures don't always evolve over time. of course, it isn't even real to begin with.
I had no idea that the Loch Ness monster was proof of God...doesn't it kinda lean towards evolution?
Their point is that all the different species existed since the creation (humans, dinosaurs, etc.) but they don't exclude the fact some of them went extinct. (yes, it's retarded)
Extremist Christians... Y u no intelligence?
Fixed that for you. Not even close to 100% of the US beleives any of this.
"God used the Trail of Tears to bring many Indians to Christ."
I don't think any of them filled me with as much rage as this one did. God dammit there's no way this is real...
I think I lost some brain-cells reading that.
I don't live too far from Bob Jones and there's something about that place when I first saw it that gave me a bad feeling. I like how most of the really right-wing stuff (KKK is a-oK!) comes from them.
my first reaction to reading this article was "this honestly can't be real". guess what, it's totally real http://www.abeka.com/ABekaOnline/BookDescription.aspx?sbn=18767
Physics: The Foundational Science can play an important role in showing students the harmony between scientific knowledge and Christian belief. The text is firmly grounded on the view that we live in a God-created world governed by laws discoverable by reverent scientific inquiry. Issues of vital concern to Christians are handled in depth. Interspersed throughout the text are biographies of great physicists who were also Bible-believing Christians.
man, I don't care if they're now all private schools or whatever, fuck this stupid bullshit for life
i actually feel terrible for the children who are brainwashed with this information can i adopt them or something
What I don't get is how you can accept that 1+1 equals 2 and then NOT think critically about stuff like this. It's like when your parents can't hold up the Santa Clause telltale once you are old enough to actually THINK critically. Why do people not reach this certain point? When I compare myself with these people I feel like a mindles, cold and logic machine....
Fuck this gay earth and everyone in it
Oh look Bob Jones University. The one that didn't allow interracial dating between students until 2000.
Holy Christ Louisiana isn't exactly the pinnacle of self reliant educated upstanding citizens, and now I know why. This is some North Korea shit
10. Mark Twain and Emily Dickinson were a couple of hacks: "[Mark] Twain's outlook was both self-centered and ultimately hopeless…Twain's skepticism was clearly not the honest questioning of a seeker of truth but the deliberate defiance of a confessed rebel."—Elements of Literature for Christian Schools, Bob Jones University, 2001 "Several of [Emily Dickinson's] poems show a presumptuous attitude concerning her eternal destiny and a veiled disrespect for authority in general. Throughout her life she viewed salvation as a gamble, not a certainty. Although she did view the Bible as a source of poetic inspiration, she never accepted it as an inerrant guide to life."—Elements of Literature for Christian Schools, Bob Jones University, 2001
this is the biggest offense in my opinion!
this is the biggest offense in my opinion!
dear lord. "these writers were shitty, FACT"... in a literature textbook that's fucking hideous! who wrote this bullshit
The good thing is that with information being so connected and easily obtainable, any kids that believed into it probably wouldn't for long. Even people from the south use the internet.
Do the rest of the USA whilst you're at it, all the fucking problems these days are sourced from there
Yes because there's nothing fucking wrong with any other country. Sure, let's kill hundreds of millions of people because you think everything wrong in the world originates in America. Idiot.
The good thing is that with information being so connected and easily obtainable, any kids that believed into it probably wouldn't for long. Even people from the south use the internet.
I was a mildly sheltered christian kid and if they told me that stuff back when I was a kid I would probably have beleived it. And with hardcore christians they probably don't let their kids use the internet, or if they do they put heavy filtering software.
The good thing is that with information being so connected and easily obtainable, any kids that believed into it probably wouldn't for long. Even people from the south use the internet.
i wonder how many people have fox news as their homepage
The good thing is that with information being so connected and easily obtainable, any kids that believed into it probably wouldn't for long.
I doubt it, people have a tendency to avoid or disregard any data that doesn't support their views or conceptions.
I was a mildly sheltered christian kid and if they told me that stuff back when I was a kid I would probably have beleived it.
why did you hate emily dickinson and mark twain!?
I don't think any of them filled me with as much rage as this one did. God dammit there's no way this is real...
There is a massive Cherokee population in east Texas and Louisiana, this will not go over well.
why did you hate emily dickinson and mark twain!?
See the part in my post that said "mildly" My parents werent extremist christians, but I didn't have enough access to technology that would tell me that if my parents told me dinosaurs and people were bros and hung out over the weekends then that would be false. Unless your post was joking in which case. The joke. My head. My parents actually bought me an abridged collection of books that included mark twain in the very least, not sure about emily dickenson.
no i'm just confused as to why christians would have a problem with emily dickinson and mark twain to the point of actually teaching against them. i mean mark twain was a deist who was critical of organized religion in every respect, but i don't think that was prevalent in his books.
I was going to paste one or two of the "facts" here, but fuck it they're all asinine,
If this wasn't in the Bible Belt, I'd call bullshit, but... Yeah, Bible Belt.
Why don't you just nuke the entire world while you're at it.
we wanted to but those filthy communists didn't want to play
These rules hangs on the line between 'so much hilarious it's stupid' and 'so much rage inducing it's offensive'.
