There are plenty of videos on Live Leak involving this kind of thing. Mostly dash cam videos, but you see a couple of cars slow down or stop for the pedestrian so the pedestrian starts running or walking across real fast. But they never check that last lane for oncoming cars, I guess they assume "Hey, if these other cars are stopping then the cars in the far lane will stop too". Except, guess what? The drivers in the far lane can't see the pedestrian since the stopped cars are blocking their view. The far lane drivers don't care why the cars in the slower lanes are stopping, they only care that their lane is clear so they can zoom by. Next thing you know- WHAM!
