Umm, maths hasn't changed in for these 30 years. We can't get better, because there isn't anything new to learn.
We're able to do more with calculators, though. So it's understandable that we're looking at higher-level concepts now.
\disclosure: I don't know how to cross off terms when dividing fractions
I find something very peculiar.
Maths must be a British or European abbreviation to mathematics because all I hear in America and just about everyone I meet in general is Math.
Thirty years ago, pupils would sometimes convert decimals into fractions to solve a problem, but those taking the tests now did the reverse, researchers found.
I covert decimals to fractions. I'm so unique and edgy.

Did you know that the Mandlebrot set was "discovered" in the 80s?
Also, they weren't really looking at how much has changed in Math since then. They were looking to see if students were dumber or smarter. I would have bet money on dumber.

Yes that's because Britain contains England, and England is the origin of the English Language, so what the English say is correct, so, if we say Maths, it's Maths, you have to put the s on because you do not say Mathematic. (Google Chrome even said that was spelt wrong, so it's Mathematics, and Maths.)
Damn brits always adding ou's and s's to things.
people use the word irony too much.
this is just a mistake (or a rough estimate) , not irony.
irony would be like, a landmine victim winning the superbowl or something.
It would be more along the lines of Usain Bolt being struck by lightning.
Uh... Wow. This is just... wow
I'm not sure if a conclusion can be made from this study.

That all the effort put into new teaching styles are working just as well as the old teaching styles?
