So awhile ago I found out if I don't stop doing games, computer etc. I can go blind at age 21 or 22. I really hope that's a lie though in which I think its not but I don't wanna give up doing that shit like watching tv and such.
Unless you have some condition, no, it's probably some rabid fallacy made by sheltering suburban moms who want their sons to get babby.
watch as people freak out thinking you stick fetus juice into your eyeballs or something.
I don't see why people would think using stem-cells are bad, I mean they're usually from aborted fetsuses and such but there are people that will protest because life begins at conception. So that's pretty much why we can't see eye to eye with them.
Let's just rub stem cells on everything. We're throwing science at the wall to see what sticks.
No, this is how scientific knowledge leads to technology aka applied science aka engineering
How about we get Deus Ex eyes?
While this would be cool, I don't want anything or anybody touching my eyes.
Man, I hope I can sign up for the trials.
Man I wonder what the experience would be for someone who has been blind since they were born to finally see
I was wondering the same thing. Would they be scared or repulsed by the sight of things? What would their reaction be to the sight people?
I was wondering the same thing. Would they be scared or repulsed by the sight of things? What would their reaction be to the sight people?
I could imagine they would get an awful headache and something along the lines of this
While this would be cool, I don't want anything or anybody touching my eyes.
Which would you prefer: Natural eyes with no sight or synthetic eyes with sight?
finally! Shooting vodka into my eye and all that eyeball licking finally isn't going to horrifically kill my eyes! :downs: unless you have a condition, no, not really
Well I have fuzzy vision and wear glasses that's pretty much it and got laser eye surgery and oh boy I can remember the laser and scope.
Well I have fuzzy vision and wear glasses that's pretty much it and got laser eye surgery and oh boy I can remember the laser and scope.
everyone has a 'fuzz' to their vision iirc
Which would you prefer: Natural eyes with no sight or synthetic eyes with sight?
synthetic eyes with FUCKING LASER CANNONS totally metal
While this would be cool, I don't want anything or anybody touching my eyes.
I'd chop off my legs for the shit in Deus Ex. Besides, choosing between no sight and sight with sweet robot eyes doesn't come across as a difficult choice.
synthetic eyes with FUCKING LASER CANNONS totally metal
make sure not to blink
Well I have fuzzy vision and wear glasses that's pretty much it and got laser eye surgery and oh boy I can remember the laser and scope.
Don't they relax you.
Thank god, now I don't have to fear losing my sight in the future that shit is scary When this comes out a whole lotta people gonna be super happy [editline]22nd July 2013[/editline]
synthetic eyes with FUCKING LASER CANNONS totally metal
please no
Thank god, now I don't have to fear losing my sight in the future that shit is scary When this comes out a whole lotta people gonna be super happy
I'd love to see videos of individuals' reactions to recovering their sight, but I was thinking this as well. I value, alike a lot of people I imagine, the sense of sight probably above other senses.
No, this is how scientific knowledge leads to technology aka applied science aka engineering
Apparently Facepunch is blind to jokes. Good job, people.
I've never given laser eye surgery much thought because my vision is already shit and I don't want to take the risk of someone botching it up and making it worse, as miniscule as the odds are. Maybe this will offer some comfort, if it works as planned, when I actually need laser surgery.
Gotta love stem cell research.
Let's just rub stem cells on everything. We're throwing science at the wall to see what sticks.
Are you shitting me?
this means people with bad eyesight can also be be helped right?
Not necessarily. A lot of the time, bad eyesight is the result of imperfections on the cornea or inability of the muscles around the eyes to stretch things the right way. So the only way this could help people with poor vision was if they were born with a significantly lower than normal number of cones and rods and I don't even know if that's a thing.
Are you shitting me?
How may I be of assistance?
I remember watching this show about a model who had a bucket of acid poured over her face and they used a similar procedure to repair her eye and she could see again within about two weeks. Pretty cool stuff
Oh no, I'm 21.
Oh, it's nonsense. I'm 21 and I've been staring at screens all my life and my vision has always been 20/20. It's not like these kinds of tjomgs koft gapprm;e3r 1w4[l,

An eye for an eye makes the whole world see.
