I just don't want people to get me wrong, I have no issues with progressive ideologies, they have been overwhelmingly positive to our society historically. All I'm saying is that truth shouldn't be second to pushing a particular agenda (even if it's positive) My country was founded on progressive values, we had women rights since the day we established independence. Literally the only secular (progressive) country in the middle-east.
If you lack a y chromosome, or it is damaged, you default to female. Everyone carries the genetic code to be female, but men get an unusual smaller Y chromosome instead of a second X chromosome. Female is literally the default state because if the body encounters corrupt data in your Y sex chromosome, it attempts to default to female.
the "default" state is an undifferentiated zygote
Default: "a selection made usually automatically or without active consideration due to lack of a viable alternative" If the Y chromosome fails to function or is absent, the system de-faults. It avoids a fault state and falls back on the X chromosome.
it doesn't default, you need 2 X chromosomes from both Parents to make a female, what you're describing would result in Turner's syndrome.
People with turner's syndrome are female. That isn't even questioned by anyone except, apparently, you.
People with turner's syndrome are female. You don't even have to go that far into the development Embryos are gonadally identical, and sex doesn't get determined before SRY kicks in. I'm probably not understanding this correctly, are you saying that 1 X chromosome is the default state?
I disagree with the fact that X is the default state, not that people with Turner's syndrome are female -___-
Are you kidding me man the phenomena of Turner's syndrome supports the idea that X chromosomes are the default state. Undescended testes are in the exact same area where a girl would have their ovaries.
So 1 X chromosome is the default?
No, no androgenization of a fetus is the default. Without the presence of a complete Y chromosome, it doesn't happen [completely].
Honestly, the only reason anyone would call the default state a woman, probably has a bias towards women empowerment or some bullshit like that. English is not my primary language so I chose neutral instead of default. Women happen to be the the homogametic sex in our species, this doesn't mean that we started as women in the womb, I was tempted to say "Gender neutral" but that's just not correct since gender ≠ sex, the two X chromosomes are not identical and even if you could copy an X chromosome twice from the father, you still couldn't make a female clone since the chromosomes are imprinted with epigenetical differences. I get how saying that we started off as female is progressive in some sense, but it's just not correct and pushing progressive agendas shouldn't come at the cost of the truth.
The only one here "pushing agendas at the cost of truth" is you.
