Weird... I had the impression that the U.K. had pretty decent public transportation. Maybe I'm confusing it with some other European country.
The public transportation in Europe generally works pretty decent if you're going around in one place, but it gets retardedly expensive if you're going from one area to another, or changing from, say, bus to train.
Weird... I had the impression that the U.K. had pretty decent public transportation. Maybe I'm confusing it with some other European country. [editline]29th September 2012[/editline] We need to bring back cross-country railways.
No no, we have good public transport infrastructure but the prices are fucking dumb, I'm pretty sure if I had to use public transport to get to where I need to be instead of driving then I'd be spending more money.
Ride a bike fuck cars
I've been to the US and the fuel wasting was incredible. The cars were super huge, air conditioning always running even when opening a windows would've done. But the most incredible thing was the seize of the cars. As soon as we came out of the city almost everyone drove a huge frigging pickup and don't tell me people need them because in 9 of 10 cases the back was empty and only 1 or 2 persons in the car.
This is true, the US car culture loves Trucks and SUV's, something that I personally would agree needs to change.
We're allowed to complain because the prices are going up, which everyone hates. You hate when prices go up. So do we. Don't get on a high horse how your prices are higher, we have significant disadvantages in the USA to offset our low prices.
This is why we bitch about gas, we drive EVERYWHERE.
Oil companies have a stranglehold on your political system. you'd have more options for public transport if initiatives weren't routinely stonewalled.
A good point to make is that our vehicle use more gasoline.
I whole-heartedly agree. Due to the United States not abiding by anything Kyoto treaty related, we do not have 50+ mile per gallon vehicles. So, Europe may pay twice as much for gas, where the US has to buy twice as much. If not three or more times as much. In the end, it probably is more realistic that we pay a similar amount when it comes down to it. Minus whatever federal taxes are placed on it and such.
Last time i filled up my car I paid $8,9 a gallon..
Try living in Canada. We have to drive further then you aswell. Consider yourselves lucky.
You wanna complain about gas prices? Ok, let's do that. Gas here is currently $6.6/gallon. You know what the minimum wage is? $192. Seeing people from the US and UK whine on and on about how expensive everything is just fucking offensive. Here's a lovely graph. http://goo.gl/lyB2G
My country gets it worse than your country, thread edition.

Can't you buy black market warheads in Bulgaria?
here in qatar gas is cheaper than water [editline]29th September 2012[/editline] by a lot
here in qatar gas is cheaper than water [editline]29th September 2012[/editline] by a lot
That is because you're from a super rich, oil rich gulf state. I'd honestly rather deal with high gas prices then live in a Persian Gulf state.
Gas is 8.5 $ per gallon here :v: 14.78 SEK per liter(2.2 $) at my local gas station -> 14.78 * 3.78 to convert into gallons, 55 SEK per gallon, to usd becomes 8.5 $. Sweden woo :pwn:, then again I don't even have a car currently(thank fuck public transportation is cheap while I'm still in uni)
That is because you're from a super rich, oil rich gulf state. I'd honestly rather deal with high gas prices then live in a Persian Gulf state.
it's really nice here actually boring as fuck, but it's safer than murica but no bacon :<
Thats because its Bulgaria. Can't you buy black market warheads in Bulgaria?
Can't you do that in any country?
Can't you do that in any country?
When somebody says warhead they usually mean nuclear warhead. Didn't some guy buy a nuclear warhead there for like nothing?
When somebody says warhead they usually mean nuclear warhead. Didn't some guy buy a nuclear warhead there for like nothing?
I believe it was spent nuclear rods.
When somebody says warhead they usually mean nuclear warhead. Didn't some guy buy a nuclear warhead there for like nothing?
If buying nuclear weapons was as easy as meeting some dude in an alleyway in Bulgaria, then don't you think terrorists would be on that like flies on shit?
If buying nuclear weapons was as easy as meeting some dude in an alleyway in Bulgaria, then don't you think terrorists would be on that like flies on shit?
They bought a plutonium detonator afaik, it was supposed to be a joke incase you dident notice. But if you really want to get into a debate with yourself by all means continue.
They bought a plutonium detonator afaik, it was supposed to be a joke incase you dident notice. But if you really want to get into a debate with yourself by all means continue.
A plutonium detonator isn't a nuclear warhead.
A plutonium detonator isn't a nuclear warhead.
Hence the joke. A plutonium detonator is still plutonium, and Bulgaria is still a shithole nobody wants to live in.
Hence the joke. A plutonium detonator is still plutonium, and Bulgaria is still a shithole nobody wants to live in.
It was a distasteful joke, you know. You're also being an ass.
Seems people have to feel it in their wallets before anything is going to be done about it. Whether it's electric cars, better public transit, or whatever improvements to the infrastructure. You've got a huge country so there's plenty of space to get wind or solar energy. Your government just needs the motivation.
Diesel prices here have doubled since i started driving, that's in '05. I love to drive cars, but this is getting too expensive(i have a oldtimer car and doing meetings and stuff)
You just can't win with this shit. In the summer it goes up because of travel, and in the winter it goes up because of travel/heating (natural gas and such). I remember when I first started driving my Bronco II I could fill the tank with $25. Now I'm lucky to do the same with $70.
In my truck, if I try to fill up from below or near quarter tank, the pump cuts me off and says that I have taken enough gas for the day...
Hence the joke. A plutonium detonator is still plutonium, and Bulgaria is still a shithole nobody wants to live in.
So, what great country do you live in?
So, what great country do you live in?
Canada.
Canada.
According to Americans, your country is a freezing shithole filled with pussies and only good for serving them. My point being, your country is a shithole to some as well.
