Conservative Americans Protest Enviromental Regulations in a Reasonable Way

Whenever I see people doing this or even have big trucks with stacks I always silently mutter "fucking twats."
It's childish, rude and insensitive to others. I might not like obama but I'm not gonna make my car burn 10x the fuel it normally would just cuz I wanna make a stupid statement. Diesel is more expensive than gas anyway...the fuck are they thinking.
Diesel still burns cleaner than gas, but nice try.
Yep, cleaner than gas.
I understand it can burn cleaner in ideal situations but not when chipped to dump extra fuel simply to be smoke.
It's like a giant cloud of freedom...... lmao
I trust these are illegal modifications?
Just start impounding and destroying them, see who ends up laughing then.
we should go back in time and kill the liberal pinko commie fucker who started the EPA

oh fuck
I don't understand, how fucking dense do you have to be to do this? It's not about politics or the fucking Obama administration, it's about the goddamn planet.
God this pisses me off. Enough that I'd want to vandalize one of those fucking cars, I mean holy shit that's stupid.
Sometimes I fucking hate people in this country.
You hate people based on a news article? Well I hate UK based off your post.
Diesel exhaust doesn't go up into the air it falls to the ground, similar to what coal does.
Oh where's that electricity powering these electric cars coming from? Oh! What?! A coal burning facility?!
I bet you don't hate electric car drivers because the newspaper tells you they're good huh?
And I didn't even get into the production of electric car batteries either.

Good thing the ground isn't part of the environment!
The particulate matter will fall to the ground but you're still releasing greenhouse gasses (you know, the part of the emissions you can't see) at a higher rate than necessary to make your vehicle work.

Electric cars running off coal or gas power generation are still more efficient than gas or diesel cars.
It's why plug-in hybrids like the Chevy Volt are so efficient, and why trains use electric motors powered by diesel generators instead of just diesel motors.
As for the batteries, lithium ion batteries contain zero toxic materials and are nearly fully recyclable.
american car culture is shit.
between cumrags like these, boomers who think their rusted to shit 70's shite box is worth 100000$, and cumrags who LE EPIK STANCE BRUH their cars, there is no good car culture left here.

That's a ridiculous post. Rolling smoke is a blatant disregard for the environment, but that's expected since from my own experience the people participating in those kind of activity are immature people who have no real convictions.

It's debatable, with the cost of mining lithium and other rare minerals to make just the battery itself. But I was mainly pointing out the fact that he thinks diesel exhaust goes up into the air, it doesn't. Coal doesn't either.

Diesel and coal exhaust are comprised of more than just the black soot you see.
Mining is definitely damaging to the environment but when you weigh mining recyclable materials against drilling for oil that can only be used once, it's plainly obvious which is better.

Or maybe they see stricter regulations as a direct attack on their freedoms.

There's a lot of stuff in Diesel smoke that goes into the atmosphere. It's bad any way you look at it, even if every bit fell to the ground immediately then it would get into the water supply and effect the environment that way.

I get your argument. Either way, diesel emissions are cleaner period. IIRC, the biggest pollutant is sulfur. CRT filters (equipped on any stock vehicle) and Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel combined can reduce pollutants by up to 85% in most cases. I just hate when people see the fuckers that "roll coal" in their truck and flip out because "THICK BLACK SMOKE!!!1" Yeah, we have assholes like this, but don't ruin it for the rest of us.
Or maybe they see stricter regulations as a direct attack on their freedoms.
Someone's freedom to swing their arm ends where another person's face begins.
Or, in this case, lungs.
Or maybe they see stricter regulations as a direct attack on their freedoms.
You must not live around it, because making a political statement is not why they do it. There is nothing noble about it. They do it because it because they like loud noise and trying to intimidate people or look badass. There may be some who say it's a protest but it's just their own justification for something they already were doing.
Damn, guess people will always find a way to overcompensate.
Or maybe they see stricter regulations as a direct attack on their freedoms.
should people have a right to destroy the environment?

America is basically leading the world in EV development right now, I'd say that's a good (but still niche) car culture.
stupid regulations stopping us from burning leaded gasoline! there goes my freedoms out the window!

My family owns diesel trucks and I enjoy driving diesel trucks. But in no way does chipping your truck to blow smoke is in any way cleaner than a gas engine. Maybe if you chipped your gas truck to burn billowing clouds of blue smoke but people rolling coal are doing more damage to the environment any way you look at it.
Also, most of the guys rolling coal with big stacks in their beds have taken out any form of catalytic converters as well.
Just pull up beside them and fucking shoot them. They're too stupid to be allowed to live.
Do these people also think that oil reserves are unlimited? If they love their cars so much, why don't they want to save their precious, precious fuel?

So, since your family owns diesel trucks, you would know that with the current EPA regulations on diesels, that fuel economy has taken a GIANT hit. If I were to go out and buy an older F-250, I could program it and get 20+ mpg. On a new one, you would have to replace the ENTIRE exhaust system and remove all of the EPA bullshit to get close to 20 mpg. The EPA has hurt the diesel community and doesn't care about it's effects on people. So I think these people are legit in their protests against the EPA.

i'd say anyone who makes a statement like that is deserving of the same but then i'd have someone drive up and fucking shoot me
Also, most of the guys rolling coal with big stacks in their beds have taken out any form of catalytic converters as well.
It would be interesting to see how they would pass emission tests, as most cars fail the test without a catalytic converter installed.
Not to mention that it's illegal to drive around without one, but that's much more difficult to notice if you're not a mechanic.

I'm not defending anyone that puts aftermarket stuff on their truck to make it roll, those guys are just a bunch of redneck fucks with too much money. I'm just trying to defend diesel engines in general. With no aftermarket mods installed, cats intact, all other filters etc. The occasional engine shift will probably blow a little smoke.
I fucking fear for this country.

answer me this
are regulations on pollution standards bad by default or just bad because they inconvenience people?
and do you agree with this statement;
You want clean air and a tiny carbon footprint? Well, screw you.
